I just came back from Tokyo and Kyoto last weekend. There was no cherry blossom this year or it was too short to be even noticed.

Yeah….the full bloom this year in Tokyo will be April 5th. Cherry blossom is really un-predictable.

It is certainly a real thrill to talk to locals for the first time when you have a problem during your trip. I also got a lot of help using Google Translate on my recent trip to Germany. It's a good memory for sure.
