Colregs Sound Signals - Rule 34 Manoeuvring and Warning Signals

The IRPCS or Colregs sound signals are defined in two rules.
Rule 34 - Manoeuvring and Warning Signals apply to power driven vessels in sight of one another. The overtaking rules apply to vessels in a narrow channel or fairway.
Rule 35 - Sound Signals in restricted Visibility apply in or near areas of restricted visibility, whether by day or night. This does not include the darkness of night though!
Throughout the two rules, a short blast is for 1 second and a prolonged blast is for between 4 and 6 seconds.
Colregs sound signals - manoeuvring and waring signals.
I am altering to starboard.
I am altering course to port.
My engines are going astern.
I am unclear of your intentions.
I intend to overtake on your starboard side.
I intend to overtake on your port side.
I agree with your intention to overtake.

in case of restricted visibility in narrow channel, where other vessel intends to overtake the other, what sound signals are required ?

1 long blast less than every two mins by both vessels if they are underway making way. Then either long long short for over taking on starboard and long long short short for port. Generally you wouldn’t overtake in a narrow channel in reduced vis because you have to lower your speed to a safe speed in low vis.
