When I was stationed in Alaska there was only one barber on island and she was okay but what I really noticed at first is how gentle she was 😂 and overall it was usually a nice, relaxing experience.

Lovely environment, lovely service, wonderful touch. In the classic old-school text-book shave, after the client sits up, the barber places the towel in the collar, then lathers and shaves the outline and the back of the neck. There's nothing like it for ending the experience.

Sure! This Tool is called shavette. Mine is from the brand golddachs . This is a german Brand. You can only use those with one single Blade. It is a bit difficult and also dangerous to use.
Even tho I live in the states, it's time I make ze 2,000 mile trek to Austria to visit Ms. Kopfsache ze Lady Barber. Where's my rowboat?

How close a shave was it really? He looked like he would feel stubble if he put a finger under his chin and trace it upwards
My customer here usually only wears a full beard and has a very strong and thick beard. When having a clean shave, it is important to protect the skin, as shaving with a single-blade knife is stressful for the skin and it is not used to having a full beard. The stubble you suspect is normal to see when a customer with these requirements gets shaved again after a long time with a single-blade knife. 🤗
but if you fall asleep.. you don't get to enjoy it.. lol..

that is a thing. it is an old traditional barber treatment. men in autria are doing it since over 100 years at the barbershop 💯

No i don‘t like to work with gloves because i want to feel the customer, his skin and his scalp. For me cutting hair is more than just cutting hair and for this i need to feel with my skin and hands 😉 side fact, my hands could never be dirty in any way, because i wash my hands around 8 times every hour 😜

These Barbers are far and few between in the world. This is how Barbers were when I was young... 60 years ago... Except they were men.. not beautiful women ! To find a Barber that will one give a RAZOR shave let alone do this much quality work. Is one in a million and the cost would be ridiculous. Not to mention be a beautiful woman. But it is like everything else in today's society the idea of quality professional services is a lost cause..... even when it comes to a haircut and a shave. ..2 bits !

no, you're looking at that wrong. I have been self-employed for more than 10 years and have been cutting hair almost my entire life. Unfortunately, it is still the case that women rarely dare to go public with their work or their passion. So they do their thing in a rather hidden way. For men it is exactly the opposite. Men are not afraid of publicity or of failing, which is why they present themselves to the outside world more often. There are enough women in my industry who do a better job and honestly love it - that's what most men do. Of course, every woman in the world has the absolute right to do this beautiful work if she wants to‼️
Why a man? A woman has the full capability of doing this job. I’d rather have a female barber any day
