I got a new ESC from gearbest (note to self check for weeds in lake before racing off) and was surprised to see it has a separate ESC and receiver. The original item was one unit. After some research it appears that these v2 ESCs will not bind with v1 transmitters so you have to change the transmitter board (Feilun video on how to do this) to get them to bind. I haven't seen v2 transmitter boards for sale so I have just changed the receiver and transmitter to a Flysky GT3B and it works a treat. Don't forget to set the failsafe to zero throttle (push and hold failsafe hole/button with everything on and throttle at zero until lights stop flashing. Then when your receiver loses signal it just goes to zero throttle. GT3B much better than stock transmitter so I will just think of it as an upgrade...

gd day - I just had the same problem. I purchased from gearbest new ESC and the upgraded version just arrived. not possible to bind with original transmitter. I also (after reviewing your post) replace the receiver with a receiver Flysky GT3E from my gas rc car - I tested, seems working good - but subject receiver works with 4-11 volt battery. is that a problem? as battery of FT011 is 14.8 volt. Also maybe you know reason of my original ESC destroyed on the first run of the boat? completely burned... Thanks a lot

Hi Michael, just had 2 short 5min runs with the GT3B transmitter and receiver so far but all working fine. Power for receiver comes from ESC BEC not directly from the battery. Mods to increase rudder angle and it really flies. Has made me want to buy a Hobbyking Genesis. Have also just noted that Banggood are taking pre-orders on the TFL Zonda 1045mm TWIN ENGINE without radio or battery but with motors and twin 120A Seaking ESCs for about 400 sterling. That's a bargain...I was entirely responsible for burning my ESC out as I was trying to free it from weeds. Was quite spectacular with a puff of flame out of the top! My guess is that your water cooling is not working well and the ESC overheated. Keep checking for the water coming out of the side of the boat. The motor cooler was melted by my blow up. Tis a lot of boat for the money. Happy boating from Derbyshire (UK)

Oh and Gearbest actually refunded me the £3.83 for a GT3B receiver. I have always had excellent service from them. Seems like I may be lucky in this...

Gd Day - Thanks for your recommendations. I run now abt 1 month FT011 with flysky GT2. everything working perfect!!! Furthermore as I had the original receiver of the boat I thought to order also the original Transmitter in order to use to another rc car. (I ask Gearbest and said that they will send me transmitter 2nd version to bind with 2nd version receiver + esc) Transmitter arrived today and seems to be 1st version. (not bind!!) - so I will ask refund again :-(

Get a 438 bronze prop and a 90mm alloy rudder. Run it with 65c 4s batteries and GT3B radio. Bingo. A lot of fun and touching 45mph. I run 2x Zop 1800mAh 65c in parallel (£22 for 2 from BG). Get 8 minute almost flat out runs. Never ever fails to make me grin. Definitely nothing better for less money.

      Hi Bubba,
X438 bronze prop from Ebay: 4mm and 4.75mm with adapter collar. Goes really well. Must be hitting 40mph. Seller I used has no more of them. Batteries from Banggood, Gearbest or Hobbyking. Get at least 30C rated. Modify battery tray to hold different shapes. 90mm alloy rudder from Banggood. GT3B radio and transmitter from Ebay. Original servo going well. Had some great runs on Rutland Water last weekend...Happy boating

@@EsCoBaReX Sorry I can't remember and it is too old to be in my history. I gave the boat to my nephew last year. Measure them. Bearings are named YxYxY (eg 7x5x2) where 1st number is outer diameter in mm, 2nd number is inner diameter, 3rd number is height (when flat on ground). I would start at Banggood and Ebay. Happy boating

Good Day - I order from Gearbest - in the website can see the old type (1st Generation) of ESC, but I receive the 2nd generation type esc + receiver (its separated esc + receiver). But my problem is that 2nd generation ESC not bind with original Transmitter. Gearbest yet not selling the 2nd generation transmitter, other sellers they have it

Man, does the motor have 2 little holes for 2 little Allen screws to go in there? I found a small Allen screw the 0.5 mm size in the box, then I tried to put the screw in the motor thinking it was there where it was lost and the motor magnet suck in the tiny screw... The motor works fine but it will be unbalanced now. How the hell do I take the thing out? The boat is a beast though, I lost the top cover also today... Today was not its day..
