    And the delay trick is really neat! Thank you

    Really great video. I'm realising that the minilogue is more powerful than I originally thought. Especially as you can essentially build your own modular effects through ableton and link LFOs and envelopes to each parameter through MIDI!

      @wang2194 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      could u do this with logic?

    @larryfinke6133 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Nice tips! You can also modulate pulse width with the LFO.

    Thanks man for sharing, good to know!!! This Week I bought one. Decided against XD and I think this wasn´t a wrong decision. But yesterday I had the Idea to put the Minilogue into my Helix LT Guitar Processor. Möööp... first I was Happy and then I realized that I now have to discover not only this huge Minilogue-Cosmos but also this new Galaxy of FX and Minilogue... haha =)

      @Sound_ology  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool! I haven't had the chance to actually try an XD, but the regular minilogue is awesome, especially if you can run it through some FX like that. Make sure to use those stereo outputs if you can! It makes a huge difference for the mix-ability, and just puts you inside the sound

    For stereo separation, just duplicating mono channel to left and right not really do much to stereo field. Add a reverb to the other channel, carve from another and add to another, magic is in the differences.

    • @Sound_ology
      @Sound_ology  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The key there is to set the LFO to a different speed for the left and right channels. Then the stereo separation is huge, because the pitch is different in each channel. But I agree that EQing and adding reverb helps too.

    • @kaitsu9608
      @kaitsu9608 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep, as long as its similar but not the same :p real though this seems like a nice synth to have on desk, good soundsource to be spiced up some itb effects ..like shimmer.. they also go good prices used now, might just go and grab one. cheers for sharing the video!

      @@kaitsu9608 cool, yeah especially if you have some stereo effects to run it through I think it's a great buy. Have a great day!

    When you get it to play back after recording the notes on the step sequencer, how do you get it to play slower in order to record the time delay?

    Ok...I'm trying my best to not sound like a knob as I type this but sometimes when somthing is read rather than heard face to face it can come across arrogant which what I'm trying to avoid lol.
    As cool as it is to be able to use the delay as a chorus that way, why would one choose this method instead of just adding a dedicated chorus after recording a part and having the full automation control that both a quality VST chorus and a DAW offers? Other than the hands on real time tweak?
    Again not meant to sound like a knob as I find it really cool I'm literally just curious xx

    • @Sound_ology
      @Sound_ology  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha it's all good! I think it sounds bigger when you record it twice, since the minilogue has VCOs that drift a little as you're playing. That can't really be replicated with plugin chorus. So I think that's useful if you're recording just the minilogue as a solo instrument, maybe for a film score or something. But in a full mix, it's probably not worth it unless you're shooting for analog purist points! Personally I just use MicroShift 95% of the time.

      @@Sound_ology thanks for your reply man love your vids...
      Yeah I hear you... at the same time though I can also see the advantage of the real time method that you shown in the sence of making the production process fun which in itself helps bucket loads with creativity.

    • @Sound_ology
      @Sound_ology  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, it's such a cool feature for getting creative! I'll do it with pitch sometimes too, like one note out of seven or something to get out of the box.
