You guys need to check out WCW Wrestle War 1992. Scotty Flamingo (Raven) , in the day-glo pink and green, vs. MAB (Buff Bagwell) is a real hidden gem. Cactus Jack even broke out some fancy gear. 😂
And when that happened, Raw got good a bit...before it wasn't. So people started to theorize "oh the good writers got moved to Raw...and then months later moved back to Smackdown...and then months later moved back to Raw etc", because the timeline always seems to match up with one another.
I got back into Wrestling in late 2015, and over the course of 2016 it kept getting better. That tricked me into thinking WWE was actually good, and i watched it for another few years. What a mistake lol
Yeah 2007 was bizarre in WWE. Kevin Federline beats John Cena on Raw Mr Kennedy is supposed to have this huge push that never happens because of wellness violations. Orton and Triple H do hot potato with the WWE title at No Mercy 2007. 2007 WWE was like an acid trip.
James definitely have seen that Cena 2007 video on his feed before this (this review was from like 8 months ago). That explained the beginning chatter.
It’s because a lot of Patreons on TH-cam upload syncs of the podcast episodes that still haven’t made it to the official TH-cam channel, it takes like 3-5 months
I remember even as a like a 10 year old thinking this Vince’s son shit was stupid as fuck, and that I was really mad at my favorite wrestler Chris Benoit at the time for some reason
I've been asking myself for months now, but does this podcast have anything to do with the wrestling promotion DPW? or do they just have the same name?
I mean they do talk about a little bit about DPW but they also talk about all kinds of other stuff about wrestling with other companies like WWE AEW WCW ECW you name it etc and yes deadlock and DPW is the exact same thing and they do have the same name
@austinminnick2764. Well on Raw from September 2002 to June 2005 it was the Triple H reign of terror, which fans at the time didn’t like. Triple H was winning every feud he was in at the time. A lot of fans tuned out of Raw during those 3 years of Triple H’s reign of terror. People liked SmackDown from April 2002 to April 2004 though, as that was the Lesnar, and SmackDown 6 era which was being co written by Paul Heyman at the time. By the Summer 2004, 5 huge names would leave or retire, Hogan, Austin, Rock, Goldberg, and Lesnar. So WWE had to fast track Orton, Cena and Batista to fill those gaps. From July 2004 to April 2005, JBL was WWE Champion on SmackDown and some fans didn’t like that, imo I think his WWE title reign is really underrated. So some fans tuned out when JBL was champion. By the time we get to June 2005, Cena gets drafted to Raw and becomes the face of the company. Fans originally liked him but by the second half of 2005 he feuds with big IWC mark favourites at the time in Christian, Jericho, Kurt Angle and Edge all back to back, and apart from Edge’s 3 week WWE title reign in early 2006, Cena beats them all, which made a lot of the fans angry. By the time Mania 22 roles around in 2006, Cena then feuds with Triple H, by this point it was now cool to hate on Cena and because of that, Triple H actually starts to get cheers. Triple H was public enemy number 1 from 2002 to 2005, but because the IWC now had a new enemy to hate, Triple H then got cheers. So some fans started to tune out with John Cena’s reign of terror. But the time we get to the summer of 2006, ECW is revived, but it’s such a botch job that everyone hates the new revived ECW with Big Show as champion and WWE names on the ECW revival show. So some fans started to tune out after the disaster that was WWECW. By the time we get to the Summer of 2008, WWE goes PG and the product gets watered down. In 2008 and 2009 Raw becomes the Cena and Orton never ending feud show which people didn’t like. In 2009 Raw starts this awful gimmick of Celebrity Guest Hosts (this is when I tapped out and stopped watching) In 2010 Miz and Swagger become world champions, why I’ll never know. My era of WWE was from July 2005 to December 2009. And the first year for me was fantastic, from July 2005 to June 2006, it was fantastic for me, then from June 2006 to December 2009, it’s a bit rough on the edges in places but somewhat decent, but by the time we get to late 2009, shit goes off the rails bad. So I think the reason why a lot of older wrestling fans didn’t like the Ruthless Aggression Era and early PG Era was because of Vince pushing guys down people’s throats too much, wild crazy edgy storylines in the Ruthless Era, 2 minute Diva matches, and PG Cartoonish stuff in the early PG era.
