- In this video, I will do a quick tutorial slash FPS test with both Resident Evil 4 and Death Stranding here with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I will make a separate video for the iPad Pro. As usual, I will discuss FPS averages, GPU usage, and peak temps at the end of this video.

Guys, no cooling fan was used. It needs to be plugged in order to turn on. I use it as a stand for my iPhone.
Again, the CPU is the cause of bottlenecks in almost AAA games on smartphones, at least when there is enough RAM...
Using the fan as a stand was a bad mistake, you know there is a lot of intellectual dishonesty, do not give them tools to lie easily.

Thank you for making this video Dame Tech. Death Stranding hasn’t even been out on iOS for 3 months yet until April 30, 2024 and already you can go to 60FPS by modding it on iPhone 15 pro. This just shows you that 60FPS was already achievable yet officially the porters of these iOS versions chose 30FPS on purpose, likely to minimize battery drain as much as possible from 100-0
Side note: Anyone else experiencing random freezing for every episode of DS on iOS? It definitely was massively annoying for me to complete the game on my TH-cam because the freezing makes you lose the screen recording so you have to hope you can get through every chapter without it randomly deciding to freeze. I think it’s due to the huge open world you can explore from end to end
Tip I learned: if you want to upload the completed game episode to TH-cam. Only screen record the game for short Bursts at a time for every episode because the game will 100% definitely freeze in every episode if you don’t and then you’ll rage quit as it takes 1hr + to complete every episode, meaning you’ll have to record the episode again from the start..I think you see the repeated cycle problem here…(The freezing happens the most in the snowy mountains)
I think limited ram is the culprit behind not being able to screen record and play for long sessions. On the iPad Pro the game uses about 5-6gb of ram. Screen record is another 2gb of ram. Hence, the device is already maxed out. Apple needs to make 12gb standard for both their iPhone and iPads now that they have AAA games on their App Store

The whole Ram theory itself doesn’t make sense once you factor that other PS4 games with the same 8GB ram specifications needed to play don’t freeze(tho to be fair, RE8/RE4R/War Mongrels are vastly smaller in storage size and in game world scope than the massive world of DS so you may be right partially) so it must be an optimization issue. DS freezing is a common issue Among many players even on a 16GB iPad, which has more than enough ram to not freeze based on your ram analysis so it’s not ram that’s affecting this but more so likely due to either the huge world or some other constraint affecting the CPU usage.
Edit: After discovering Andrew Tsai’s Death Stranding video, motion blur and Depth of Field I would think to be the source of the freezing but that can be changed in the config files

For those users that are experiencing cinematic view. Or it has black bars on top and bottom. Here's the solution if you were to play on a 1600x900 rendering. With a Window right from 1200x800.
Change the rendering height to 1200. This way. Those pesky black bars will disappear. And will only reveal if you're accessing the store or on a cutscene.

i modded 10 parameters more in that .ini, and i can play 60fps without frame drops, a lot of things that you cant see ingame and drop the fps. nice, time to buy the game now

The a18 pro will have a proper 3nm chipset. As the a17 was a rushed chip from TSMC, it couldnt handled to keep up. Also hearing that iphone 16 will have a graphene cooling system. So yeah next year the iphone is becoming an absolute powerhouse.

Yeah death standing I think 30 fps or even a 40 fps limit is best. For Resident Evil 4 you can limit to 50 fps and have a smooth experience as fps will flow between 45-50 through entire gameplay.

i Have iPad Pro 256GB and 8GB Ram and start dropping from 60 to 37fps, but my M1 iPad Pro 1TB and 16GB Ram is stable 60fps most of the time and some times drops to 57fps
