- In this video I’m adding an Automatic Headlight switch in my 2010 Laura / Octavia Mk2 FL, this is such an essential and needed feature in any car, it makes your car that much modern as well.
This is as oem as it gets, this was offered in L&K variants which are top of the line variant for this car, hence it was easy to retrofit it as shown.

Finally proper way to do it! Not like these oder versions with sensor that don't work usually. When you call it "Laura" I thought it was some type of personal name for the car, but then I discovered that this is actual name of the car. Normaly they are called octavia else where.
For the Indian market, the Laura and Octavia are 2 different products.
This is the mk2.5 Octavia, Mk2 and mk2.5 Octavias were named Laura, mk1 and mk3 are still called Octavia

Hi prerak.that was a neat job. I have installed auto headlamp switch with sensor. But the one you installed doesn't have a sensor. How does it sense the light to turn on/off. Please clarify
It acts according to the time zone that's set on your vehicle. I own a slavia usually by the time clock hits 5:30pm my auto headlights turn on. As per it working in dark ig for that u might require a sensor so his method might not be fully functional

I had a small query, is it possible to use reverse lights instead of brake lights for LH/CH? On polo/vento platform. I have leds installed and they would be better than brake lights for lighting up the areas when it’s dark.
For PQ25 it’s not possible, it could be possible via VCP but I doubt if PQ25 cars will support it

Kindly make a video on polo too with same switch not the old one with the extra wire which stands out and the link to the product which is genuine not the china one
For polo we need to upgrade to BCM max for this to function, I might be getting it, but till then the external sensor one has to do the job for now
@@PrerakKataria that's good news and i been browsing a lot about vcds tweaks like Corning lighting while steering and automatic windows close when rain hits* and all. can you do a in-depth video about all the tweaks we can do with it and a link for vcds cable which is high quality and less expensive.

Yes, it can be done exactly like this after BCM max has been installed, otherwise I have a video on adding auto headlight switch on polo itself, it’s one of my early videos
Superb auto headlight switch doesn’t work in laura?
Doesn’t fit flush with the interior, mechanically it can work but not a good fit
Also will this work if the car doesn’t have a auto dimming orvm or rain sensor?
So the ambient light sensor to detect the daytime / nighttime is already in built with this specific model?
Yes, it has the rain light sensor already installed

If you don’t have a rain sensor in your car, there is a variant of this switch with a built in snesor and another one with a sensor module plugged right behind it
Would you still have to run the extra wire to the bcm?
No, for those variants no extra wires are needed

The car has an RLS inbuilt, Rain Light Sensor.
