As a criminal trial, usually the defendant will go to jail (of some kind) and appeal goes "while" he's in jail. Dumb of 45 to disrespect the judge so much. The judge decides whether he would be given house arrest until the election, and he keeps spitting in the face of the judge, like he doesn't realize the power that the judge has over his sentencing, if convicted.
