Two things I would love to see is with the academies it should be Australia wide for example the Adelaide teams should be able to match players drafted from the SANFL same for the WAFL for Western Australian teams since Victoria teams, nsw teams and Queensland teams can do it. I have nothing against teams drafting there own father sons or the NGL but if they keep the points system that team must give up a first round pick if matching within the top ten
I guess the extra year trading will allow fairer trades for players in the top 10 in the league like if Bont was to be traded everyone would agree 3 first rounders is fair as the future first could be anything
I thought they’d just get rid of the discount, I don’t know if reducing it by half makes it that much harder to get bucket load of players like Gold Coast did last year. We shall see I guess.
I think how long they’ve been in a clubs NGA should determined there should be age groups/range’s 4-7, 8-12 or 13-17! I’m basically saying it’s to be determined by how long they’ve been in a clubs NGA. The F/S rule should negate that I think the team that the father had the most success at is the team the son should play for example; Hodge’s Son Cooper he’d currently be apart of the Lions academy if that was the rule he’d stay that way, but could only be drafted to the Hawks unless.
Wow, It is not like the AFL to make a whole bunch of rule changes that will have unseen consequences that will require more rule changes later to "fix" those issuea.
