i’ve been rocking my rocktrix for close to a year now and have been nothing but happy with them. the finish is a little light like you said, but overall for the price point you can’t find a better wheel.
Did you use the stock TPMS or get after market ? If you used stock, how did they work with the wheels ? If you went after market, what did you go with ? Thanks :)
Good question - I’m not sure offhand. Mine are from Teraflex and they worked with my previous ProComp wheels as well so guessing they are a standard size.
Thanks Brent! They’re actually just the factory flares that I trimmed with a dremel. Marked them off w/painters tape and added some door edge trim when finished to give it a clean look.
ZOLEO Satellite Communicator well worth the watch. Most places I go out west do not have cell coverage. In 2017 I traveled extensively by myself. I would file a flight plan for the off road portions of the trip.(telling my wife is if I do not check in two days send the Calvary. I would tell her the proposed route.) I had three weeks water and plenty of food. Also my camper shell and survival preps could handle the cold pretty well. I got snowed in on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. 17 degrees, 17 inches of snow and 17 miles from civilization. Excellent video. One question my Mavic Air 2 drone has a hard time finding satellites in remote areas. How good is Zoleo? I would say the satellite issue with my drone happens about a third of the time.
I can totally relate to this! 17” of snow, wow. Yeah, I’m always surprised how little cell coverage there is once you get out in the mountains, even on pavement. I haven’t tested the ZOLEO enough to know it’s coverage consistency. Interesting to hear about the drone as I am in the market for one. Just caught your videos. You can thank the algorithm. I see you have a car seat in the back. How do you balance time going 4 Whelling with the kid / kids. Do you do a lot of solo trips? How old and do you take the kids out. I have a 3 year old and want to get started taking him out with me.
Awesome! Yes, we have a 3 year old and an almost 2 year old. They love the Jeep almost as much as I do haha. That being said it’s definitely harder to find time to get out and hit the trails, do overlanding trips, etc. I take one, both or the whole fam when I can and have to strategically plan times when I can just go out solo to film, explore, etc. The best and easiest way we’ve found to get out as a family is to do one night camping trips that are within a couple of hours drive. The rooftop tent and having our gear organized and ready to go at a moments notice has really helped make the experience more enjoyable and doable for us as well. It’s more work with kids but also more rewarding sharing the experience with them!
Hey what size are your wheels? I'm running the Yokohama geolander mts 37x12.5x17 on 17x9 wheels and they look more narrow then most 12.5 wide tires by other manufacturers.
i just ordered these based on your review. does the fake beadlock ring unbolt? or just a machined line on the inner flat of the wheel? thanks ! in other words is the ring come off?
Yeah good question - nope it doesn’t. The wheel is one piece and the little bolt heads are just decorative. I’ve thought about painting them to disguise it more but the look is growing on me as-is. Hope you enjoy the wheels!
Those scuffs from the tire machine aren't an indicator that the finish is bad, they're an indicator that the person who mounted your tires is bad. If you set up a tire machine correctly, it will never touch the wheel.
Hey Jim, good point there. I also got some chipping of the finish around my valve stem after the first time or two of inflating my tires (and I’m pretty gentle on things) so I’m still not convinced on the quality of the finish of these wheels. Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!

The tire shop damage is more poor equipment and human error. With that big lip these should be bottom mounted on the machine.

Same size here, 17x9 wheels with 37x12.5x17 Yokohamas. They do seem a little more narrow than my Milestar Patagonias.
