I wasn't really sure where to post this, but I wanted to post my appreciation. I've just watched your twitch chat with Dave @ Miniwargaming. You have a fantastic attitude, play what you love and what you know, because you know its strengths and weaknesses & most importantly...you enjoy playing them. I've always been a Necron player, always have been and always will be, you've given me the confidence to play the units I love and enjoy because I know how they work and I enjoy playing them.
Well, I’m not sure it will hold up but I’m glad to see the move away from hivefleet specific rules and a move towards detachments. I like also seeing swarm armies get some rules to get them out on the tabletop again, which was always my favorite way to play
The app is the key. If they use it right with your code and update your Dex if you're suffering later on in the cycle then fine. If they do nothing and you get slapped around by later Dexes - or Eldar - then it's a wasted opportunity.
They certainly did, plus they made them more expensive. Classic GW. And it's not like they were even fielded competitively. Now will probably never take them outside of the Vanguard detachment.
I think something people are missing with things like the broadlord with scout 8 then the advance and charge, is not to think 2k comp games, but on a smaller board or in boarding patrol games he's will be so deadly.
Aparently only one spore mine can be produced per turn, regardless of how many biovores you have? From what I have seen its one per model in this unit, but clarification would be nice because this would be a huge oversight.
What was that about moving into engagement range and it counting as an ongoing engagement? I thought you couldn't do a normal move into engagement range?

To tell that shadow in the warp is a powerfull racial when compared to other racial powers such as, Oath of moment, or Strands of fate is hillarious. Is a complete random power that you cannot plant around, and at least half the units in every army have more than a 50% chance of passing that test (some of then may even repeat failed battleshock test). Moreso when failing the battleshock test doesn't affect much the state of the game (it may mean a turn that your opponent doesn't score primarys at much). I think is one of the worst racial powers of 10th edition, above admech, but not above much else...
@endikacampoacha615 Yes, however, it does determine tactically whether I charge that unit or not, move into the open or not, etc. It's less about control, and more about foreknowledge and collapsing variables.
@@Scarabswarm so you base the plan of a while turn if a unit fails or not the shadow of the warp test, which in turn determines how you are planing that turn... The rules in the armies that are overperforming do not require a check on the opponent (nor any luck whatsoever) to give an edge to the player. If we Tyranids are still making any kind of contest is because of some datasheets that are undercosted, and the biovore allowing easy secondaries.
@endikacampoacha615 I'm not disagreeing with you that the ability is underpowered and unreliable. I am saying that because it is unreliable when used as intended, I often prefer to use it in a different way. That the different way, which at first glance seems sub optimal in that it doesn't prevent scoring points, at least gives me some foreknowledge I can use. It's sad that this is often a better use of this ability, rather than using it as an often pointless gamble to try and offset my opponent being better on objective control.
sadly this video is not really for beginners and people who are not master of the english language because yuou guys talk really fast imo and not having the codex yet is not helping either, i lovez how you guys give information about good attacks or where a model would fit in with a detachment but speaking the attacks or other helpful psychik stuff is really fast and i have to replay the part where you speak about them to really understand what you're saying. besides this please keep doing what you do, i love the video's the need to replay to understand is annoying but it doesn't take away that this video also helped me out a lot to understand some detachments and what units would fit in which one's. thank you! yes i know this is a confusing post but i haven't mastered the english language yet so it'sn ot always easy for me to understand when people speak to me, writing is okay buit understanding is hard for me.
It’s ok to say when rules or things are dogturds, and crusher stampede is absolute trash rules. Anything that requires you to take damage and live to get the rule would have to be so strong to be worth it, and this isn’t
Once again underwhelming tyranids, fun nonetheless but really? one detachment for big bugs its pretty much the same useless one that battle sisters have. I want to know why the top armies have powerful rules and detachment that are not situational or conditional yet the lower tiered armies keep getting either generic or complicated rules.
Hardly, this is a good indication that power creep isn't a thing, the Index detachment is arguably still pretty much top, especially if you're not building to beat a specific list. Quite a few units actually nerfed and the new units plug the holes a bit

Great synopsis as always, thanks for putting this together.
It would be amazing if someone did this level of detail for AOS
Wait... so did they nerf genestealers? Their index rules give them reroll all wound roll when wounding targets in range of objectives.
They certainly did, plus they made them more expensive. Classic GW. And it's not like they were even fielded competitively. Now will probably never take them outside of the Vanguard detachment.
They nerfed the Tyranofex and increased its points by 45. That was just desserved, right? Right???

Well, the special Unending Swarm rule that allows your chaff to move into engagement range isn't a normal move.
Carnifexes have a similar rule built in, which makes it clear that you can move into melee.
Id been hoping to hear from Stephen on my nidders in new meta
I'd rather just have a digital code for less money since the books are outdated quickly. Whether it's nerfs or points changes
the codices are now completely pointless, if anything you are better off just getting the datacards as they have everything anyone wants

I would play a space version of total war Warhammer 40k I find the universe really interesting and incredible.

why not more free rules like other tabeltops to take the hype of free indexes..
