Eduardo Diaz So you disagree that there are not other beautiful parts of Honduras other than Roatan? I am aware of safety and political issues in Honduras so some parts would be difficult to visit unlike Roatan. But there are still other naturally beautiful sights in Honduras.

I’m here now and have visited the Myan ruins, Santa Rosa de copan, San Pedro Sula, and Tela. It has all been amazing. I have not been to roatan and understand it’s different then mainland living, but this place is SO underrated by travelers. Beautiful and humble people, adventures, inexpensive across the board, and I (very surprisingly) haven’t felt unsafe at all, not once. Yes there are issues as with any country but to suggest Roatan is the only worthwhile place in Honduras is a huge mistake!
I just stayed in West Bay Beach! It was beautiful!

Great video! My recommendation as an islander though, anyone who comes to Roatan and is adventurous book your submarine dive with Karl Stanley!
He started building his first submarine at the age of 15. You can find his first submarine in the Half Moon Bay while doing snorkelling. He sunk it when he decided he wanted to build a bigger submarine.
Idabel is the second submarine and it does dives down to 2,000 feet. It’s literally the best adventure anyone can do.
He donated the boat where people play for free on your video :)
You can slightly see the submarine in the background in the 54 second part.

Roatan Honduras has the largest coral reef barrier in all of America second largest in the world.... you will never see crystal clear water like it anywhere and an ecosystem so unique only 2 hrs away from the US. Eastern coast....Columbus witnessed cocoa here for the first time in 1502 and the rest is history
West Bay Beach is great. Had the most amazing massage on the beach there. The water is fabulous!
West Bay is very beautiful although I didn't try a massage there. Maybe next time!

Fun video, Roatan is a great place to scuba dive. I have been there 9 times and my favorite dive is Mary's Place and we have always stayed at Fantasy Island.

@@goutfromfriedokra7099 They are all special in their own way. I also love Mexico. Mexico has some great snorkeling and diving also but I think Roatan has better snorkeling, the water conditions are just too perfect there and very easy access to see underwater life and coral.

Hi Jack. I did snorkeling in Half Moon Bay (West End right from shore) and some snorkeling in West Bay which is what you saw in this video. The snorkeling from anywhere in Roatan is great really!
I take my own snorkel and fins with me so I didn't rent. You wont have a problem renting gear from any dive shop in Roatan. If you are renting a apartment, ask them if they have gear there for guests.

Depends where you are staying. If you are in west end or west bay, there is no need for either. You can walk, take taxis or water taxis. Check out the guide on my website which will give you lots of good info about visiting. Link in video description.

Going on a cruise in a few weeks. Mahogany Bay. Do you know I can do the zip lines without paying the ginormous prices the cruise ships charge?
Hi Billy Bob. Just outside the cruise port near the taxi pick up, there is a zip line company where you can purchase zipline packages. Their prices are slightly better than the cruiselines. Better yet, if you contact Rosina from Hillview Cabins and Tours, she can help you plan a zipline with transportation. Her prices are a lot better than the cruiselines. Roatan is the top place Ive ever been snorkeling. Its really amazing. Roatan is better for snorkeling than Puerto Morelos. Puerto Morelos is one of the best in Mexico. Roatan, one of best in the world in my book.

Isn't it peligrosa there in Honduras?
Roatan and the other Bay Islands are a bit different and safer than the main land of Honduras. Roatan is "safe" in my opinion and much safer than lets say California and other parts of the USA. So, I feel very much at peace in Roatan or Utila.
Went there in 2001 and none of this stuff was there, cruise ships did all this.

Yes it is
I traveled there last April and again in October alone and had the BEST TIME! i already knew a few people from when i used to cruise there, but I met so many new friends in October that I will be going back again in April and another trip planned for October of this year. I never felt unsafe there, even when I was alone or taking a private tour. But just like any where you'd travel to, even in the States, just be aware of your surroundings. Have a great time!!!

Laura F I’ve never been to Rostand but I’ve been all over the country and I’ve never felt unsafe at all. I imagine it’s even safer where there’s heavy tourism. Of course use common sense at all times but I (very surprisingly) felt much less safe in Paris then I have in Honduras.

The Mesoamerican reef spans Belize and Roatan which is the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world.
