Very nice and concise. I just started turning and i just did my first ca finish. Had some issues that i think came from too much ca glue and friction. Your way seems alot easier with great results.

Far and away, the best description and demonstration of CA Pen Finishing I’ve ever seen! Wow! ❤

I have made about 20 acrylic pens. Now I am about to start making wood pens. First thing I have to get is those HDPE bushes and the mops. I have everything else. Wish me luck. I am having a lot of fun.

When you started the wet sanding, you mentioned turning the speed "back up". What rpm are you using for that process?

Try Acks abrasive paste and carnuba wax polish after you apply the Ca glue to your pens, hundreds now use our way to finish a pen, not wet sanding, no dust. No one we know wet sands anymore!! There is no reason to do that.

@ACKSWOODPASTE ..... I'm new to Turning and I want to make pens to sell for extra money, wondering if I could bend your ear sometime.
I'm confused about the finishing and polishing... I'm retired and can talk anytime.. I'd really appreciate any time and advice you could give me. I've been working with wood all my life
Thanks.... we can exchange emails if that's possible.

Hey, I also would like to know if your company also carries everything needed to turn pens.
      Thanks

Very nice. Only thing you might have showed that you need to sand the ends of the blank.

You mentioned using rouge when buffing. Where do you get it? I didn't see it on your website.

In a previous video by Barry, he demonstrated it using the Abralon mesh sanders in between the regular sandpaper and the wet sanding pads. Are the Abralon mesh sanding steps no longer needed?

Does the CA glue have a shelf life? I have been doing CA glue finishes for several years with no I’ll affects. Recently any use of CA glue irritates my eyes sometimes swelling them up. I have used both a mask and a full face respirator and continue to have those issues

Not sure if you ever found your answer, but CA glue has a cumulative effect on your respiratory system. The fumes also stay in the air for a day or so. Make sure you have good ventilation for the room in addition to your respirator.
