Really curious about the rest of the album - so far I'm very pleased to hear that the want-to-sound-massive-at-all-times-and-cost-while-playing-a-single-note-across-3-octaves-and-wandering-aimlessy-while-doing-so orchestra and choir that made its appearance in Embers and imo inflicted a lot of damage on the compendium is not always the leading element but the details (in this case the violin work) and non-musical storytelling elements (supposedly Enyo's speech) that made the music so layered and entertaining earlier are making a comeback. The "breakdown" parts with the violin sound indeed brutal and at 4.51 there is an actually interesting harmonic progression! Wow! I don't remember that happening in a while and it sound really great! I really hope that Mechina will be back on track with the next album and make something intricate yet brutal I'll be able to spin endlessly like Xenon, Acheron, Progenitor. Fingers crossed!
OK, so this song seems to be about Enyo, since Alithea would be frozen at this point in the story, I think. So from what I gather, the humans came first to Acheron, and then waited around in orbit for many decades until the palce was terraformed (why even wake up in the first place then? Couldn't you just keep poeple frozen until the terraforming is complete?). The terraforming of Acheron was grueling, but it payed off, giving them a home that was relatively hospitable. But some people went of to neighboring planet Empyrean, and for some reason, and they didn't really go through the same process there, so it was a harsher place to live on, and people started agumenting themselves or something. I guess they didn't have access to titans or something? But why even leave Acheron in that case, it can't have been overpopulated in such a short time? Well anyway, so the titanborns such as Alithea are sleeping at this point in the story. It sounds like Enyo, Alitheas twin is doing some freaky augmentation stuff to achieve some stronger form or whatnot, and it seems she is positioning herself to be some kind of ruler on Empyrean in some way, a pretty harsh one at that. By the sound of things, there's a lot of duality themes between the two twins. Alithea was given power, she built stuff, then she slept, unitl she eventually had to try to defend her home. Makes her out to be the more peaceful of the two, I guess. Enyo on the other hand seems to be taking power for herself, and is apparently pretty harsh and ambitious? The planet Acheron get depicted as Blue, and Empyrean as red. Likewhise, Alithea is usually depicted with blue lighting such as on the artwork for Cepheus, and seemingly as the frozen woman on the left isde of the artwork int he Realm Breaker video. Enoy appears to be depicted with some red lights around her in the Telesterion album cover, and I assume she is the one depcited on the right of the Realm Breaker artwork, lit in red and splattered with blood. So Alithea is sdepicted as protective, serene, and thematically tied by color to the more "human" world of Acheron, whereas Enyo is depicted as grim, with red lighting reminiscent of Empyrean, which is harsher and less human. So it seems Enyo is being set up as litarrlly being Alithea's evil twin, and she seems to hang out on Empyrean, as well as be associated to it by color. As we know, Empyrean eventually attacked and took over Acheron, but we don't quite know why. It seems fairly safe to bet that Enyo is in some way going to be set up as the one who drives this conflict. There's kind of oging to have to be some sort of personal motivation behind it to make for a good story, and Enyo is pretty much the only candidate character for this, and it seems pretty hinted a that she's cruel, she's already getting Empyrean under a whip, so it wouldn't be surprising. So I guess I'm looking forward to getting some idea of why she would do that, hopefully we'll get some of that in this album. I'm also looking forward to eventually finding out more about Alithea, because as I've said, the prequal albums sets her up more as a protective person, but we know she'll eventually plan some sort of crazy revenge thing against Empyrean, which is still really cruel and destructive to do, even if they killed her people, it doesn't exactly set things right. So what motivates Enyo? What motivated Alithea? How exactly did Alithea get changed by the destruction of Acheron? Will either of them change their mind by the time they get around to this revenga match that's comming up in the main story? And how is Amyntas' motivations going to play into this?
From what I've read/watched/listened to, the humans stayed awake on the cepheus ring not knowing if the terraforming was working so they send augmented humans down (godspeed vanguards) who can survive the conditions of the planet and find a signal from anecitus (creation level event) Most humans went down to acheron one it was finished but some stayed on cepheus to continue to augment themselves more (tellurion Pathos) these humans would go on to build a new titan (hydrus) and terraform empyrean, hoping to one day return and become God's of the others in acheron. They then built more titans to the point they basically outmatched acheron. Hope that helps some?
@@Krushtykon Yeah and when they refused to bow down, Empyrean launched a genocidal invasion on Acheron resulting in it being utterly destroyed. (To Coexist is to Surrender)

The song itself is nothing but amazing, loving every second of it - futuristic, brutal and epic! The mix on the other hand is a bit off in my opinion: everything is drowned in the synthesizers, which is a bummer, because the vocals and guitars are really awesome if one can distinguish them from the rest. I had to turn my subwoofer way up to hear any lows. This is the same single criticism I had with the Compendium remix of the old albums for an otherwise outstanding music project.
I, sadly, have to a agree. I've been a Mechina fan since Empyrean, and while the mix has improved greatly since those days, this is a continuation of the problems present on Compendium. The synthesizers are wayyyy too out front which buries everything else and I am listening through a headset. Still a great song. Just a chore to listen to due to the mix.
I agree for the youtube versions, but if you actually go buy the .wav files from the bandcamp, the mix quality improves so much. Take realm breaker for example: the youtube version sounded like trash but the .wav was nearly perfectly mixed. Yes this song is lacking in the low end but just wait until he releases it on bandcamp and buy it before you make your final criticism
We don't even have a high quality version out yet and this is such a perfect track. The buildup to the guitars is outstanding with that drums + orchestra only segment I absolutely love that. This also brings back the old style of David's vocals - the style where it has that echo effect and it sounds like outer space itself is singing. Haha. My only complaint I guess is that the riff gets a little repetitive while Mel is delivering her monologue.
Absolutely brilliant band and this is a fantastic song. However, I can not stop staring at that image of the woman in the mask, it looks so unbelievably awesome with the bloodstains on her neck, the blood on the cable going to the mask ,and her eyes. Just a stunning image
Telesterion is sounding amazing so far and I am so hyped for the storyline on this album. I wonder if Enyo and her followers are where the Empyrean originate from?
