Elvis loved to sing but it is so unreal that he could do all these concerts in so many cities.
    He was a superstar.
Stars of today do not have such busy schedules...not even close.
    Tough on the whole gang.
    Musicians back up singers ...everyone.
    The show must go on...
Yep Famous Elvis went thru that door or thru the car garage door.
One thing was for sure...Elvis filled the seats in the arenas !

Not just multiple cities but also multiple shows a day in some of those cities. Largo MD 1976 had a 2:30 PM and a 8:30 PM show.

My husband and I were born and raised in Terre Haute, and now just live 15 minutes south of there. I remember seeing his tour bus, when my parents dropped my brothers off for the concert,, but I never got to see Elvis. Terre Haute has a lot of great memories. Thanks for sharing.

My mom worked in that motels restaurant when Elvis came to town. It used to have an outside elevator on the east side of the motel back then. He had the entire floor and the restaurant was closed to the public while he was there. She met him and when he found out there were 8 children in our family Elvis gave her a $500 tip after one meal when he found out she had lost her tips because they were closed while he was there. He also sent home ice cream and an autographed scarf. Sadly it was lost years ago. That will happen with 8 kids lol. Mom said he was the best looking man she ever met, and that he was polite, kind and his staff was great. She didnt have tickets for the show but Joe Espito, I hope I spelled it right gave her two and her and her best friend went as Elvis's guest.

I believe the hotel was the Best Western back then. I recall exiting off the interstate and seeing foil on some of the windows. Later found out that was one of Elvis’ many idiosyncrasies.

I was at this concert , my Granma Jean took me I was 9 yrs old. We had floor seats , and I had to stand on the black plastic chairs to see the stage. He wore that tight white leather jump suit and had those mulit- colored scarfs he waived around and tossed to the crowd. He played at Assembly Hall ( Bloomington , IN ) I believe that same tour. I dont remember much of that concert as I slept thru parts of it and the ride.

I had the pleasure of working at Hulman Center beginning my senior year in high school in 1988 and all the way through college (ISU). Taped to the walls of the break room were concert posters of all of the groups that had played there over the years. In the administrative offices, there were also large black/white & color photos of featured artist who had played their, including Elvis. My boss, who had worked there since the building opened, told me a story about Elvis when he came there in 1975. He said that during the concert, Col. Parker made Elvis do outfit changes in the double doored maintenance closet which shows up in the video at 7:41 as an open door on the far left side of the video. This closet contained floor mops, cleaner, wash basin, etc. He told me that Col. Parker did this because he wanted to keep Elvis in his sight at all times. He said that Col. Parker basically stood around in the area right around where those mop buckets are and waited for Elvis to re-emerge from the closet. Down the hallway past that closet are the guest changing rooms and the ISU Basketball teams, coaches, referee locker rooms, etc.

Hello just found you tonight. Just watched you touring Terre Haute Indiana and Hulman Center. Really enjoyed that------because I must share this information with you. I lived in Clinton In and learned Elvis was scheduled to perform at Hulman Center in 1975. I sat out all night at the front door at HC before ticket sales the next morning. I acquired front row seats luckily. It was a great show and Elvis looked and sounded fantastic of course. I was given a scarf and a kiss. I shall never forget that concert. Thank you for showing pictures of him and his guys entering back of hotel. Had not seen those before. Now I must share more memories with you. I also sat out all night at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis for tickets to June 26, 1977 show. It was a shock, but I also got front row seats for that show. So very sad because it was his last concert ever. I always loved seeing him, but that night all I could do was stare at him. He was so so very sick. He had no rings on at all. He just did not play up to the audience like he always did. As I watched his every move and looked into his face, I was very concerned. He probably should have cancelled the show. But we all know, Elvis never wanted to disappoint. Bless his heart. I miss him so much. I wish he would have taken that year off that people say he was thinking about. He needed a rest. Some say he was considering taking a yr off and touring with JD and the Stamps. That would have been fantastic. Well thought since I watched your video I would tell you about my 2 times of staying out all night for tickets. Plus wanted to share my Elvis Concert memories with you. Thank you for all you do to enlighten and educate ELVIS fans. 😊💙

Terre Haute had many very popular groups in the 70's, not any longer we must just not be big enough now and worth the money. But in the 70's we had some good time any group you could think of.

The train in the background reminds me… you can take a short, scenic train ride in French Lick, Indiana that passes by Larry’s very modest childhood home along its route. French Lick / West Baden visit is well worth the trip. It was a gambling playground during prohibition and has had a resurgence in popularity in recent years. Seeing The Restored West Baden Hotel is worth the trip alone.

Gotta love how Spa Guy just finds an unlocked door and goes right in and tours the entire building by himself. Its hilarious but appreciated at the same time because otherwise most of us would never get to see what those places look like. Thanks for taking the risk Billy seriously, that place reminds me of what the old Louisville Gardens looked like inside but its closed now and they may have even torn it down.

You may already know this, but the Hulmans were (still are?) the owners of the Indianapolis 500 facilities. Mr. Hulman, and later Mrs. Hulman would say “Gentlemen, start your engines!” At the start of each Indy 500.
