Yo what’s up. I’m the guy with the purple K swapped Impreza with Joel’s old wheels. You were on my TikTok live a couple weeks ago lol. As a fellow K swap enthusiast my opinion would be to keep it fairly stock. If it’s just gonna be a daily there’s really no point to throw a bunch of super fancy parts at it. These engines can handle a decent amount of power bone stock and don’t really have any weak links unless you throw a bunch of boost at them. One thing to note these engines vibrate ALOT so poly mounts being the standard now are gonna make for a slightly uncomfortable ride. With you having the k24 only thing I’d recommend is swapping to the K20 oil pump so you can rev it slightly higher. Anyways stoked to see what you do with it!!
@@Prestanium Thanks dude! I’m going to look into some really soft mounts as the vibration is my biggest worry with this engine and the main reason I wasn’t really into them at first. Hopefully I can make it nice and smooth, appreciate the info!
I think leaving it stock would be fun. A bolt on k24 in a del sol would be a fun daily ripper. After you do that then id decide which route to take. I think a small turbo responsive daily would be the perfect end goal. Big power isn’t fun on the street when you can barely use it, and if you do, you’re in going to jail territory lol
I’ve been waiting all year for this update. And hopefully, this del sol will see more video time! Pretty sure there is so many hype subs waiting/wanting to see it!!!
Hell yeah Mike! 🤘🏼 As much as I love me some turbo'd K-series goodness, stay true to your intended goal bud- and the comments seem to agree. You wanna daily it, with minimal hassle. Keep it n/a, just do some cams and breathing bolt-ons. The Del Sol is light enough, it'll be ridiculously fun and still reliable as shit :) we're totally not opposed to seeing a turbo'd Civic or CRX on the channel further down the line to satisfy the boost jinxes, lol
I own a motegi del sol but that nsx is def my dream car in the same spec u have it looks insane the black goes crazy its like a batmobile straight fire bro keep it up
My uncle had a boosted b18 type R yellow del sol back in like 05-07 that car was a monster at the time but it was just a fun quick quirky daily, plus the shit was on a 50 shot. Seeing your del sol makes me miss going out to the garage to my uncles whip banging gears unattended and I was like 7-8 years old around the time
HYPED! We love new technology. At least I do. So I'm stocked for the newer engine but would have liked the simplicity of the singlecam as well. Looking forward to the nerding out over the different parts you are choosing ❤😂
So glad you went K Series, run it stock for a while, you can always add cams and a turbo at a latter date, when the vtc isnt enough and your fed up bouncing it off the chip lol , It's going to be a blast stock ! Hope you don't mind me asking mike whats the intro song to your video .... loves it !!
@@diiviinemedia that will explain it, been searching for the track for ages.. lol Thanks for the reply dude, have a great xmas new year and keep doing what your doing ... I love your expensive cars but the little hondas are down to earth awseome !
Not sure if your walls experience big swings in temperatures or something? Usually doublesided tape when used correctly can be so strong you will struggle to remove it. Sometimes metal surfaces that experience weird temperature changes will let go of the tape.
@1:50 The clip where you turn the lights on after you pulled the cars out could be a intro clip for your channel. Cause how the lights turned on then the divine sign with the cars in the back ground.
If you were gonna go turbo, you’re gonna wind up down the all-wheel-drive conversion rabbit hole however I think if you wanna leave it front wheel drive and still have some fun with it. Jackson racing makes a cool positive displacement supercharger kit for the case series you should look into that as it may be a more enjoyable introduction to the K serieslife
Even a stock k series will be fun out to drive as the cars is super light as he wants to drive it daily itbs can be a pig on fuel and drive ability can be a bit mehh
Would be dope to have seen a 600hp D series in there! The biggest thing with that power is keeping the power down in a light car. You’ll be fighting for traction unless you go BBG and added weight over the front end.
K24, I say just go for it and turbo it!👌🏼 But not crazy HP, go with a smaller Garrett G-series turbo at around 400-500whp give or take & have one hell of a street car that’ll be crazy fun to drive around & still reliable-ish!(you know how builds are lol) Smaller exhaust housing with pretty much no turbo lag, you’ll love it🙌🏼
I like how you say not crazy hp then you say 400-500whp, that is crazy people in a small fwd car, it’ll struggle to grip on those powers lol Not crazy would be 300whp ish
Man, I'd just be stoked to have a working d series again. My Z6 dropped a head gasket, I swapped it, 100 miles later 0 comp in 3 cylinders. Bought a reman head and a new gasket kit. Got around another 100 miles and same thing so the block must be warped or something. Had her for like 23 years now, but I'm starting to think it might be time to give up. It's been in the back yard for 10 years now and has more rust holes than 'ruined sol'. Even if I did get an engine swap, I'd need to basically do every piece of rubber and joint on the car, brakes, tires, fuel pump almost definitely needs to be replaced again, ect.
@@cracklingice take a breather dude! Its okay. If your able to just put the car to the side for a month or two, save up for a completely new d series swap and put it in. Complete refresh ruling out all the possibilities. You got this!
@@diiviinemedia It's been to the side for many years now and I haven't been able to fix my own problems in that time. Actually, it's probably been non-op half of my ownership of it at this point.
Just do a full bolt on I/H/E maybe a drop in cam and make some decent power with it being in a delsol its gonna be quick regardless with a 24 or do a 24/20 with a drop in cam and really be spicy 😅
I’m with everyone keep it a the stock side and a good 300 hp for a daily is smooth. I’m enjoying my brothers 92 eg with a k24 in it. It does vibrate a ton but I over look it because I love the setup so much. Now I want to k swap my 99 ex sedan.
Leave it stock internals! Just get a nice turbo manifold and smallish turbo so the powerband and torque is street fun and reliable at 300 to 350 hp which is plenty in a DelSol. If you wanted to make more power in the future, you just need a bigger turbo as even the K24A stock can hold 400-450 all day, anything past that and forged rods and pistons, stronger springs and retainers, cams, intake manifold, ect....no need to go down that worn out rabbit hole! 🐰
You should just build a fun na motor that revs out to 9k. I think that would be enjoyable in that car. Especially because it is so light and it won't be able to hook with a big turbo and high hp.
Have you considered leaving LZ team to pursue your dreams further ? The fact you have been here since day dot must mean your looked after pretty well Good work Michael
Just letting you know kseries transmissions are known for having bad second and third gears those go out first so build your transmissions if you plan on putting a turbo
You have plenty of fast cars and let’s not forget the primary purpose of this vehicle, the to and from work in an economical way. Freshen it up in stock package with upgrades to the electrical system and enjoy your commute with no worries or concerns.
Stay N/A then boost the k24a2, Enjoy. I have a del sol and it’s the “weird cousin” of civics. It would have been nice to see you boost a d16z6, a y8, or a b16, Single Cams are underrated.
BEFORE you decide to turbo the K series. I will say on my main channel. JDMWork - Jared Fuller I have spent close to 10k on the K24 turbo setup for the RSX. It has a TON of bolt on goodies in the engine but it gets very expensive very quickly. I would say try going full bolt on. Especially with the Del Sol being so light it really benefits from a nice FBO all motor build. Again I have seen here someone said to do a type S oil pump conversion and I would have to agree. Those k24 oil pump balance shafts are GARBO. Also most people are going to ask how I have managed to spend almost 10k on turboing the RSX. There is a lot more involved with the RSX than most traditional hondas mainly fueling issues. It is very expensive to build a nice fueling setup for the RSX.
Why not a Supercharger if you're going to boost it? Everybody does turbo, but a little whiney machine strapped to the K with 350whp would be loads of fun, and different!

@@diiviinemedia keep the oil pump that has the balance shafts it eliminates more of the vibration than soft mounts.
STOCK K24 WITH CAMS AND A K20 A2 HEAD MAKES 250 TO 300 AND THEY ARE BAD ASS GO NA

nah ITBs are just waste of money for a bit better sound, especially when he's trying to be on a budget
Itb’s is overrated unless your drag racing. Drivability is dog water 👎🏾
ITB and daily driver is the worst combo lmaooo! Just watch Ben's S2K with a K swap and ITB's from Gears and Gasoline to see all the problems he's had!

Solid choice Mike !
Always loved the del sol body lines. Would love to see this get a turbo k swap and awd!
I'd say if it's a daily either Kraft Werks supercharger on E85 or Full Bolt Ons with mild cams. Both options would be reliable and Hella fun.
K series N/A with big throttles would be crazy.... Lots of love from South Africa ❤ 18:23
Stock kseries, skunk2 street intake manifold or rbc, skunk2 try-y alpha header.. and smoke the crx lap time at the compound lol!
Rrc is best , skunk2 make more peak power but not as good quality although i have one on my jdm ep3
We share the same birthday. 🤙🏼
As for the K24, do all motor with ITB’s. Won’t be the fastest but different and sound sick.
for the sake of daily driver and gas mileage etc vs the other cars, stock k series is fun , or maybe some internals to beef it up for later
The k series is such an amazing engine.

Good ol' Intake + bigger throttle body, headers, exhaust and tune.
Upgrade some weak points on the motor put it in and enjoy it stock great motor for a daily

Keep it simple. Full bolt on NA. 235 240 hp. Quick and reliable, ac etc.
Have fun with it stock for a bit then boost it if you feel it needs it
boost it but just enough to where it doesnt spin regular tires
Just letting you know kseries transmissions are known for having bad second and third gears those go out first so build your transmissions if you plan on putting a turbo
3m adhesive primer use on the 3m tape sticks shlt to anything :)
Keep it N/A Vs Lz’s crx would be cool see which puts down a better lap time in the compound
Would love to see a similar setup to Oaks 86, would be so clean 🤘🏽

K24 with itbs would sound amazing

Go NA make 220 to 260 oem plus nice subtle exhaust with ac and power steering
