@@ShrooMIR05 I’m think I’m quite deep into the vtuber hole but I only know female vtubers such as honey strap, hololive, voms And a few nijisanji liver (u could see my pfp’s Ange) I should blame the algorithm doesn’t really recommend male-vtubers to me, besides, there’s like a hundred vtubers in nijisanji...it takes some time to learn about them, but I will fall into the hole deeper by simping over mayuyu

@@totallynotcheng It's more like he doesn't enable superchat because he finds them troublesome since it makes some comments stand out more than the other (he said this in the interview stream with Inuyama Tamaki). The fans still want to support Mayuzumi so they buy his voice packs and merch instead since that's the only way they can support him in the end

I know that as soon as someone translated this call stream, they need to translate maybe almost the whole conversation since most of Matsuri's fans still don't know who Mayuyu is and they will give him unnecessary hate simply bc how he behave towards her
Mayuzumi always act casual towards his senior and junior, and that is, in my opinion, makes him approachable despite his not so much expression and heavy voice.
And I also relate to Matsuri's level of simp to Mayuyu uwu
This, really. I felt really disgusted towards Matsuri's "White Knights". They didn't even try to understand this relationship (a really important relationship for her, btw), they just were hating Mayuzumi without knowing him and why he is "harsh" towards Matsuri. All in all, Mayuzumi really appreciates people like Matsuri, and, the fact he's really frank with her, shows somewhat a strong bond. At least, i think so. Happy for her tho, she can talk with her oshis in a common ground (another male Vtuber she likes really much is Chaika... and nope, even with that character he likes women, at least, he likes women more than men).
I mean, she is pretty clearly having fun so I don't see why someone would be against this without sounding like an incel crying "m-muh waifu"

It shows how much he cared for his coworkers and friends as he tend to shows up in their streams (example, Rikka's call & singing stream). And despite his attitude towards people, he's still liked and even get along with people in Nijisanji. He had so much potential that however hardly shown in his stream (still curious about his voice pack tho).
And Chai-chan is a legend, I wouldn't surprise if Matsuri like someone like him (as a friend). I think she also close with Yashiro since they form 27 and JK duo.
@@kiss-shot_is_bae My dear friend... believe me, they exist. This same clip was uploaded by another translator, but she/he translated only a part of this conversation, not the entire thing. The comment section was full of incels and white knights, it was seriously disgusting.
@@kiss-shot_is_bae there are some of Matsuri's fans in the other similar video but a lot shorter that dissing Mayuyu bc of his attitude towards her. I mean, not to be mean or anything, it just kind of weird to meet someone that admire you, and they just continue to fangirl/fanboy in front of you.
One more thing, Vtuber always has a character, it may the same or different from who they are in "real life."
To talk about this, I want to tell you about Chii-chan's incident, after that incident, she shared that before streaming she always tell her collab partners about her character, how she may act in her stream and ask if it's okay to do this in front of them. It's the same for a lot of livers, so it's not like Mayuyu is too harsh towards Matsuri or something, that's just his character. We Mayuyu's and Nijisanji's viewers have already known Mayuyu has a good relationship with other livers, it may just his characters that he act like that. I think Mayuyu's and Matsuri's relationship is really nice so that he can comfortably act like that around Matsuri.

I think she and fubuki (though she got hate and some dislike on male collab video by minority of her fans) are the only one that often collab with male than other hololiver. Watame once comment to a holostar tweet iirc and some mad fans commented on her reply why she is talking to male etc, though she just smack him back by saying talking to your co worker are normal, but hey idol culture on japan are toxic af so its inevitable

@@dinozero2 it was at the end of their recent among us stream where he announced that he would be organizing a rock-paper-scissors tournament among Niji livers where the winner got a million yen, prepared by Mayuyu himself. That stream garnered more than 70k viewers live, and it was really a fun stream.

listening to this whole translated clip, i would first of all like to thank you but also kudos to both mayu and matsuri for speaking about the REAL stuff that goes on between vtuber 'idols' and the fan reactions and stuff

I like this guy, very direct and genuine doesn't sugarcoat his words either. Those are characteristics you don't see together in a lot of vtubers, especially the directness since it often gets interpreted as rude sadly.
While its part of his character, he's also very sociable and easy to communicate with (according to staff and some livers)

Also assuming you're talking about the quiz event: I think that was more about communication than conversation. Given that staff were the primary voters in that poll it's very possible it means he's easy to work with, but it's been a while since I watched that so I could be wrong.

He does. He had cataract surgery, which means scooping out the eye's lens and putting in artificial ones, which means a limited range of focus. So he would have to wear glasses to compensate.

And the fact that mayuyu can pull off that kind of persona consistently is crazy. People usually break it eventually, which is why he's seriously good. His voice acting is nice too and the single slip in character I once heard was a blessing
If you only know a single slip in his character, you might want to watch more of him especially 声劇企画 in Naru's channel, his loud Fall Guys stream, his Bloodhound APEX stream, his Observer stream (which he is really cute when scared, he won't scream though) and his impersonation as yuuhi riri (there's vid in puchi sanji) and as Aiba Uiha, twice...

Also, if someone noticed something in 7:19, IIRC Mayuzumi shared some thoughts in his stream/twitter before this that he was tired of streaming and his schedule had been very full. He did had October as he relaxed his schedule (but still stream with his Senpai for the last time) and came back as usual in November.
The funniest thing to me is after he tweet that he wanted some time off, the next day he streams Gourmet Spicer competition with his listener.

This is something that I simply heard from people that Hololive seems more focus on collab with Holostars to get more attention to their male idols.
Eh, this is just from August 29th so barely a bit over 3 months and there have been a good amount since then, a recent example would be the one with Marine, Mikoto and Himawari.
A number of Hololive and NIjisanji collabs still happen even today, mostly between friends or competitions. But yeah the collab numbers have decreased significantly compared to like 1-2 years ago, the Vtuber market was probably really small back then so cross company collaborations were being promoted for more exposure but now that both companies have grown so big they now begin to focus on their own things.
Also Suisei just have a duet concert with Inui Toko.

They aren't really quite strict with the gender segregation thing, it's more like their audience and the norm of their branding is the one against it and have to be careful. They could try to be different and go the unconventional route but it's not that easy in a business perspective.

@@antonevan443 That's what I also think but you'd be surprised with some people saying they prefer the segregation. They prefer watching the girls in a girls only group interacting with only girls so they dislike the idea of unifying the groups. They could do it but they don't know if the consequences are worth it. These vocal minority of people who prefer the segregation are the hardcore fans who usually donate and spend extreme amounts of money for their Idols compared to other viewers. So by doing something these people dislike can be a dent in their income. Hololive labeling themselves as an idol group is basically a double edged sword. Besides if you didn't know some Hololive members themselves have that mindset too or have no intention collabing with men to begin with like Sakura Miko and Pekora.
