@@TheOZgeist Well it seems obvious to me that Dan is a smart guy who has been with the podcast since the beginning and throughout all of the massive expansion, growth, addition of new employees, new episode formats, new operating and technical systems/software we are never even aware of that allow the show to function technically that without Dan there wouldn't be an H3 podcast as it exists today, which Ethan has said himself many times. They even affectionately refer to him as Dan the Wizard because of his ability to single handedly keep the show running smoothly behind the scenes, so it seems to me Dan has done so much for the show he probably feels a sense of ownership for this thing that he has had so much to do with making, and Ethan also quite obviously feels the exact same way as he seems to treat Dan as more of an equal rather than a subordinate like the others. Just my thoughts since you wrote an essay I thought I'd publish my counter thesis.

I’m a full time student and also work 30+ hours a week as a server. It’s been so slow and dead most nights, even weekends, since covid. I totally understand it and I’m not even going out to restaurants hardly ever myself, but it is really hard. We go because it’s our job and we need money, and it’s easier said than done to just get a new job. I love serving and it’s great for a student schedule and it’s just my job.. it’s what I’m good for a “part time” thing. But working now is so taxing. People are awful to us- you would think that since people see how slow it is we would get these great tips from people that are willing to go out at this time, but no... I’m not begging for money but some people are being just ruthless and blame the social distancing rules on us and tip us poorly because of them. And asking people to wear masks is like pulling teeth- they just don’t listen and have the balls to look at me, as I’ve been wearing mine while working for hours, and say that it’s hard. When the state shut down restaurants the first time (ohio) I didn’t get any unemployment and they won’t shut us down now and just keep placing more restrictions instead so they don’t have to pay anyone unemployment. They tell businesses to stay open but people not to go to those businesses. I’m so frustrated with the government and people that just don’t listen, when it’s my (and many others) job on the line.

I’m a full time student and also work 30+ hours a week as a server. It’s been so slow and dead most nights, even weekends, since covid. I totally understand it and I’m not even going out to restaurants hardly ever myself, but it is really hard. We go because it’s our job and we need money, and it’s easier said than done to just get a new job. I love serving and it’s great for a student schedule and it’s just my job.. it’s what I’m good for a “part time” thing. But working now is so taxing. People are awful to us- you would think that since people see how slow it is we would get these great tips from people that are willing to go out at this time, but no... I’m not begging for money but some people are being just ruthless and blame the social distancing rules on us and tip us poorly because of them. And asking people to wear masks is like pulling teeth- they just don’t listen and have the balls to look at me, as I’ve been wearing mine while working for hours, and say that it’s hard. When the state shut down restaurants the first time (ohio) I didn’t get any unemployment and they won’t shut us down now and just keep placing more restrictions instead so they don’t have to pay anyone unemployment. They tell businesses to stay open but people not to go to those businesses. I’m so frustrated with the government and people that just don’t listen, when it’s my (and many others) job on the line.
