Excellent flip through of the doodles and pre writing. I hadn't seen the flip through of this anywhere. Thank you for sharing. We did TGATB preschool this past year with my daughter and she loved it. I bought the PDF too. I printed it and took it to Staples and had it spiral bound.
They need to make the connection from blending to knowing what the word is. They can sound out p-a-t but then you want them to say "pat" go through a few at a time and then review some older words from past lessons as a warm up. If they can still read the word without much hesitation then they mastered it. But you are right, she sounds young so no rush!
That can say p-a-t. Pat. C-a-t. Cat. It will take awhile before they say it quickly unless it is a site word. I'd move on but still practice those pages.
