Thanks for the video! Just a quick question, you use 22" for your length, does this apply to all size flashers? I was taught 3 times the length of the flasher, so an 8" flasher would be 24" for the fly length and an 11" flasher would be 33" for the fly. Any insight into this would be appreciated, tight lines from Port Credit, Lake Ontario.

The 3X rule makes sense to me because a larger paddle will have a wider rotation. I always run the smaller paddles (mostly spin doctors) so that's probably why 22" has always worked well for me.

@@MudSharkZSounds good, thanks for everything, hope you don't mind if I borrow your whisky sour pattern, and give it a shot? Have a great 2024 season out on the water!

@@thefishfin-atic7106 Of course! Good luck to you as well. I'm enjoying the ice fishing now, but I miss my salmon buddies.

Great couple videos. Is the over hand knot, then cinch knot if you will to the flasher so that you never have to cut to retie therefore never losing length? And you trust that simple overhand knot?! If so, definitely switching to this method. Thanks!

I've never had that knot fail on me, just make sure you pull it nice and tight. Yes, it allows you to switch gear without losing length. Only thing I've switched up lately is I've gone back to a single 4X treble with 4 beads instead of the double hook, but a lot of guys still run the double. My next video is another salmon trolling fly video, so stay tuned and thanks for watching!

@@MudSharkZ awesome im going to try it... I might try a few with 2 single octopus as well. I switch a lotnof my trebels to siwash on my spoons and have had improved hook up ratios. Looking forward to it!

Roughly how many an hr do you make?

I've never really tried to go fast, but I can usually get one done in 10 minutes or so.
