  • In 1979 put that old-fashioned Rolodex away. Use the Telepon! Just fill out your names/addresses on cards and put them into the machine in their correct spot. It uses two "C" cells. To recall just press a button and away it goes! Maybe someone could have used it, but it sure seems odd today!

I've been wanting one of these on my ebay watch list for like two years, dunno why but I find it so fascinating and such a fun novelty way to keep a bunch of sentimental notes or addresses, it's not super practical but it's adorable, the $150 they're asking for it is quite steep haha

But an old Rolodex is so quiet and easy to use . Why not make a lot of noise and drain two C cells ?

Well I guess that back in the day when they used these things people didn't have more than 12 contacts per letter ;) Does someone know how they handled more than 12? My guess is the little flap in the top left corner counts the number of plastic cards to pinpoint the letter, so you put the bottom paper card in the wrong way, when you put the bottom one *above* the plastic, you can add more cards and flip them manually. when you have more than a dozen contacts. And you'd have to write A and A on the left side and B - B on the right side instead of next to each other. The little buldge in the bottom plastic would make it easier to flip the loose extra cards. Never seen one of those. Was invented the year before i was born...

I wonder what it cost when it was new. It's easier just to store your phone numbers in your cell phone.

@Morahman7vnNo2 Me too, it also keeps your address book cleaner. Every time I move to a new phone, duplicates of all of my contacts get generated and I have to de-duplicate manually. Android does an okay job automatically, but the best was BlackBerry.
