Both planes and engines were completely destroyed._ Even talking with the pilots while analysing the video after the flight, they couldn't figure out about what or who caused the crash. In the evening, during the BBQ, the crash was already history and both pilots was waiting for the next noon show. *_Thanks for your great comments, my friend !_*
I may have told you that when I was first learning how to fly RC, I was flying a .40 sized trainer and it accidently crashed into a school room and the entire nose and engine went through the wall. It was barely cruising along too. oops!
Man Horst! I cringe evertime from the emotional experience and then the financial costs from losing one of those beautiful large scale planes and all the work that goes into them! What the heck at 1:38, looked like it was an intentional act at a midair collision? Great camerawork and editing! Danke for sharing Horst! Cheers my friend!
some awesome looking planes here, looking into the hobby myself though couldn't imagine how gutting it must be to crash... especially the larger scale warbirds, definitely not a cheap mistake that's for sure!

As always a fantastic video in high quality with epic crashes, one thing I didn't understand was the FW 190 in the trio formation, at a point it completely changes route and falls to the ground, was it a backout of the radiocontroll?
The propelller exploded and some debrits destroyed electrical components. Therefore the plane was totally uncontrollable. We were very lucky, the impact was out of range from pilots and spectators.

Oh my - that dive into the ground was beyond ouch - very painful. Bet that took some time to edit Horst - nice work.

great video, feel sorry for pilots , it's heartbreaking to see months or years of work destroyed made worst by all the ace armchair experts. no one intentionally crashes into another at these events, no one flys war birds at these events unless they're able pilots you all go back to playing war thunder like good children.
Diamonds & Rust LOL well you can say they don't want them to crash i to each other, but when you fly with that many planes in the air, you know what your getting into so I'll call bullshit on that. When I flew at a field with my warbird P-40.... I waited until no one was flying and if someone else started up while I was flying I instantly called landing and put it down. I have not had a mid air since the first one when I was 12...I'm 55 now and have owned many different types and followed the same rule. I do feel bad for these folks that crashed, but there were also a TON of really piss poor pilots in that group. The corsair into the corn field near the end was a perfect example. He is standing at the end if the field to judge his approach. Dude, learn to fly before trying to pilot your dream war bird.
Newbie question here but why do piston-engined models go nose-over so easily? It seems very often you see these planes land smoothly and almost coast to a stop, only to do a face plant at the end of the roll. Is it just because the engine is disproportionately heavy compared to the body, making a model more unbalanced than the original aircraft with identical proportions? And if so are there any ways to counteract this short of adding extra weight? (It's a lot more obvious in the 2013 video but I figure replies are more likely here) Thanks! :)
I dont know anything about RC planes or anything RC, but I would like to think that many of these planes are really expensive, but to me it seems like the landing gear is really weak. Like in many of the RC plane crash videos I have seen lately, there are many times problem with the landing gear while in air or during landing, and many of the crashes happens after the plane is landed. Why is it like this? I really want to know, really like this RC videos.
