This script for the Launchpad is mapped with Bitwig, which comes from Richie Hawtin, right? Is it possible to map the Launchpad with Ableton like this?
Hey. Yes, this is Richie Hawtin custom script made by this guy: github.com/ericahrens/rhbitwig/releases/tag/v1.0.4 Unfortunately, I don't have any information that Ableton can have custom made scripts. :( Only default one which comes with the controller.
@@isotoxin With the Bitwig script, the launchpad has been equipped with additional functions in addition to the drum rack and I wonder how you can assign functions to this area, but you can't seem to answer this question either. I don't want to buy Bitwig just because of my DJ set up 😅 Thank you for the answer!
@@philanthony_dj Actually, the Bitwig script overrides default controls. With every other script You can give a different control abilities to Bitwig for the same MIDI controller. But You need to select different controller script in Bitwg settings. So in this video, the script just gives the ability to control drum machine device. You can: create/delete/copy/duplicate 7 clips with different lengths, add/remove probability to any clip notes on the sequencer, record clip notes live (finger drumming), enable/disable note repeat and show sequencer in a few different modes with a different grid resolutions. It is just a fancy drum machine sequencer. 😅 If You have Ableton, and You have used to it, You can use Push to achieve the same thing. There is no need for another controller. Unless the controller size matters. Because Bitwig doesn't have a dedicated native controller.
@@philanthony_dj BTW, I have seen the link with a free giveaway Bitwg Track-8 version link. You can give it a try. Looks like link is still working. futureplc.slgnt.eu/optiext/optiextension.dll?ID=PbkPkgSxBj%2BFMGgdXiv3p3XkDYyA4VDAQDD8nyVGK5Fb9BW5yyvaVqouW4EluGxydIioemaldZBNf64KbS
@@isotoxin Thanks for the link! I think I have an idea of how to do a similar thing with the Launchpad and Ableton. I didn't really understand Launchpad's custom mode, but yesterday I looked into it a bit and finally understood how to build your own interface and then map it with a DAW. I'm going to sit down tonight and test it out. The script (Bitwig) already has a few cool functions that I want to try to implement with Ableton.
Hey brother, I'm not able to have signals from 9,10 outs on UMC1820 after traktor 4 pro update. Also ADAT outs are not available. Would you confirm that? Is it the same with you on sonoma? I'm using outs from 3 to 10 and with traktor 3 pro all works fine
@@KAT1LLA hey! Actually this is a known issue. Hi mate, great mix. Just a quick question, how did you get the K2 LEDs to work when activating your FX sends in Bitwig? Are you using Richie Hawtin's mapping or have you figured it out yourself? I'm using DrivenByMoss but I can't seem to get them to light up.
Hey! Thank You! 🖤🖤🖤 Because I'm using Richie Hawtin's mapping and his Bitwig project, some button LED's on K2 lights up not only from the Traktor, but from the Bitwig too. And this custom Richie Hawtin mappings for K2's from the Bitwig works only from his Bitwig project. Actually I have never tried to use controller script in an empty project with single drum machine. :) You can get his project from DropBox (richiehawtin.com/DJsetup_Bitwig&Traktor), open it in Bitwig, set K2's to channels to 14 and 15 and the buttons should work. But keep in mind, the project uses 3 external VST plugins (PSP42, MEGAVERB, DOUBLER).
