I’m like you …I just can’t help using ‘Marta’s pictures either. My last project I challenged myself to use a picture from each of her 7 books in a collage on the lid of an old round hatbox to store my collage books in. I was super happy with the results. Have you seen her 2 new books. Just beautiful as usual. The fairies and blooms is my new favourite. Fairies are quite different to the first book and the flowers are just stunning. This new book has a bit of everything and is so beautiful. I love that you used embossed paper I have been making cards for years and yesterday had thought … I’m going to try using embossed papers in my collage background and voila , here you are doing it. I was debating though whether to use ordinary thin cardboard [which I have a lot already embossed ] or to run some watercolour paper through my machine and make new ones as I usually do the shading with my watercolour paint. I’ll have to experiment. Your final project is just beautiful. Love the sparkle too. Thanks for sharing your work. Very inspiring.
Yes I've seen the new books they are gorgeous! I'm soon going to get all of them myself. Yes embossed papers really were fun to use and I also shade with water colors often or inktense pencils. I'm glad you liked it. Thank you. I'm sure your round box turned out lovely! 🌷☺️
hello!!! Wow… another fabulous art journal layout using Marta’s beautiful florals… I loved the addition of the embossed envelopes in the background - I like the idea of using envelopes that would be a slightly different texture & feel to them… I love how you roughed up the edges despite the cost to your manicure 😂 I took the first step to using one of her books but tearing out a page of fairies and started fussy cutting them out. I am not a fan of fussing cutting but her images are stunning. I plan to see if my Brother Scan & Cut could cut them out (the ones with a white background so it knows the perimeter lines to cut)… anyway… thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration- have a wonderful week! 🙂
Hi Sue! Thank you for your kind words 🤗 oh that machine of yours sounds interesting! I used to dislike fussy cutting but for some reason it changed. The days where I'm feeling a little low and uninspired, I fussy cut. It makes me feel like I'm at least doing something creative and it usually sparks the need to create because I'm looking at beautiful papers and elements. So now, fussy cutting is like a safe place for my mind to rest. Happy crafting! 🌷 😊

I don’t understand why, but here in the states it’s like $5-6 higher. But now that I have it, I am so glad I went with it. I am sure all the other ones are just as fabulous. Love the embossed paper with the gray. I’ve decided I am going to create a page similar to yours, using some of your great techniques and inspirations! I love the gray too😊 I was hoping you would choose that. I think the gesso helped. So very very pretty. I like pretty better than beautiful 😊❤
