Hi, Sweetie, your Mom here. You are really honing your craft with each video I watch. It is such a joy to watch you doing what you love ❤️. Nice Job!😁. Love, Mama-Bean
So I know this video is a year old at this point, but I just wanted to say it helped me a lot!!! I’m a year and half into my loc journey and I always got someone else to do it. Now I’m confident enough to start doing it myself and know that I can get the same results. THANK YOU!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I was 4 months in and had been seeing a loctician before the quarantine. I found I was just not good at palm rolling when I had to maintain my own hair. This twisting method came to me and worked perfect. I actually love love love the fluffy ends I get with this method.
You started your locs a month before me. We have about the same length but I just colored mine last week. Thank you for documenting this sis! Straight motivation for me ✊🏽✨
Shampoo causing build up is a misconception as well as conditioner causing mold. Ive had my locs for just over 4 years and I usually deep condition most in the winter because that's when I get kinda dry, it depends on what/how much product you as well as your hair texture
I started my locs April 27th. It’s nice to see someone who is around the same time in my journey as me. I love watching your videos when I don’t feel as confident. You are so beautiful ❤️
Aw thank you so much! 🤎 and I think most people that start their locs go through a period where they aren’t confident because it’s so new to us! I always tell myself “this is temporary”!! Sending love and hugs 🤎
Best retwist vid on the net. I’m one month locd (2 strand) and want to do my own retwist at the 2 month mark. This is just how I imagined doing it but wasn’t sure. I want fresh roots and all my frizz and fluff down the rest of my Loc, I love it like that lol. Thank you girl!!! I went ahead and subscribed too 😊
I’m sitting here in the verge of starting my journey and I’m doing my research. I find your channel, and it’s a sign I swear. We have the same comforter and pillowcase. God is like “do it”.
I use ogx ginger and pomegranate conditioner and I dilute it for when I condition my hair. It does its jobs while also being able to be rinsed out and I save product! I love it
First of all, you’re very pretty. Second of all, I can relate in the early part of the video: I have locs myself, and when I finally got my hang time, I was definitely feeling myself a lot. Great vid. 👍🏾
Omg yes! I literally was searching for this cause I need the most simplistic way to maintain my own hair! And this I already know how to do with ease lol your hair is gorgeous as usual! Also so look forward to your videos!!
i know this is two whole years later but are u still using this method ?? i plan on starting my loc journey next month & this is the most simple technique i have seen
Palm rolling is the only way to get the friz in the middle and bottom of your locs to look uniform will your roots. If you get what I’m saying. I mean over time the friz will naturally become part of your locs but... idk just my opinion. Also I want my parts big like yours 🥺
@@casiphiaisrael6709 I would atleast try to wait atleast 6 weeks, My stylist told me 6-8 weeks but I dont think I can go all the way up to 8 weeks so I'm getting my first wash and retwist at my 6 week mark which will be next week.
I watched ur video & I retwisted my hair just like u did .. thank you , I’m 1 year in my love journey , last I got it retwisted was January, money tight , so I had to learn , plus I wanna maintain my own crown 👑… again thanks ..
Hey love. I just watched two of your videos back to back. In the other video before this one when you were retwisting your hair using the palm rolling method, I noticed that you were twisting to the left/counter-clockwise. I noticed that in this one, without palm rolling, you're twisting to the right/clockwise. This can cause problems for those that are not fully and maturely locked. It can cause "gaps/holes" and a looser network of locked hair. If you have mostly twisted your hair to the left or right, it would be best to stick to twisting in the same direction all the time. Be careful not to switch up.
Hey! I always retwist clockwise, in some of my videos I flip the orientation so it can look like I’m doing it the other way. I should put a disclaimer 😭😭
This is the only way. Like, I refuse to have my locs thin with palm rolling. If I ever DO itll probably be for bunching of locs which I dont have, thank goodness. And HANG TIMEEEEE!!!!
Random question, if you want to split one of your locs into two, would you be able to do so? I ask because I just loc’d last week but i want more locs. I have an appt in 5 weeks to retwist and I was going to ask her to split some of my locs to add more. Is that a thing??
Hey, I got my hair retwisted over a month ago after having my went 3 months with no retwist, and now my root seems to be thinner than the length of the starter loc. Should I be worried?? 😩 P.S. even after washing some still not expand. My mind tends to wander to the worst case scenarios. I just want everything to go well !!
I look forward to your videos sis!🖤🤎 your hair texture is very similar to mine I’m on my 4th month since I’ve been loc’d I just retwisted myself two days ago. Love how healthy your locs are ❤️I’m enjoying this journey. Sending love all the way from 🇿🇦
Hi ❤ is there a particular reason why sometimes you retwist by twisting the new growth with index and thumb, sometimes twirl it around your finger, and sometimes you palm roll? I hope that makes sense. Love your channel!
When is the best time to retwist starter locs? I recently washed mine and they are looking messy, but I don’t want to retwist too much. This method also looks easier to do than palm rolling. Which method do you prefer?
Hello there so my question is when I'm Retwistin my hair how can keep the roots from coming I loose please help me I started my locks 6 months ago 😭 thank you 😊 🙏🏽
I hear loc smything ( I don’t think I spelled it right ) and palm rolling gives u a more uniform look over the years and I don’t want that so I’m just going to twist the roots
So sometimes when I moisturize my hair I’ll take my time and separate any of my locs that are beginning to combine or marry together. Also I’ll wash my hair in sections too which I’ve noticed has helped with that as well! I also noticed that if I let my hair dry after washing it before I retwist it, it combines much more and will hurt while separating so I retwist RIGHT after I get out the shower
Hi I how are you doing? I started my locs 4 weeks ago. I did not start my locs on my own. I wanted to start with the coiling method however, the stylist that I went to told me that my hair was too long. She charged me $300 and locs my hair instantly. She also used the interlock method🤷🏽♀️. I have not yet done a retwist since. What advice can you give me?. By the way love your channel.
$300?!!! Sheeeesh! I’m not really a fan on interlocking because I’ve noticed on other people’s locs, the part they interlocked is much thinner than the rest of their loc! Which can cause problems later down the road. I would suggest palm rolling or using the method in this video to further maintain your locs!

Your locs are coming along very well❤. I started mine 3 weeks ago because you inspired me.
Me too!! I'm patiently waitin
Same here! #lockpower✌
This makes the whole retwisting process look easier!
I started mines yesterday 😭

Your sister 😂. It's all love!
I love your locs. I like that you keep it minimal with your hair. Definitely going to take this approach!
I started my loc journey yesterday. I'm so excited & looking positively for my growth along with their growth!!
Your locs are beautiful. I'm also a 4C

LMAO that’s too funny! But yes I support it!
This is how I’e always retwisted my hair! I thought i was the only one who did this! First video I found that does it.
this is my favorite re twist too 😍😍

Soooo I Started My Locs Yesterday .. I Did Da 2 Strand Braid Method ... Cant Wait To Dey Loc Up 😌 !
Seee I need to learn because these La retwist prices for how fast my hair be growing AINT IT!!!!
tysm i couldnt belive how nice my locs turned out in the end thanks to your method

I like this method as well; never got into palmrolling
Today marks 3 weeks for me and 3 more weeks til my first wash and retwist. I'm going to be so excited to see the results
I'm 3 weeks in also. I have comb coils. I'm so excited & nervous to be on this journey. Good luck on ur journey ☺

Greatest Retwist Video Out !!
Lmao at “ this hang time thooo” subscribed🤣🤣🤣🤣👏🏽👏🏽❤️
Your hair is everything
how do take care of your locs after a retwist so they don’t untwist?
You locs have to be dry, then you take off the clips. You locs won’t untwist..
This was uploaded today, and there's a dislike? Kisses to the haters, keep glowing Desz!!
Thank you!! People are a mess lol but I get so much love and positivity from you all so that’s all that matters to me 🤎🤎
You just knew my first retwist was today 🤣. I am so happy for this video. How long did you wait in between retwist this time?
I think 3 1/2 weeks or so
I’m just learning to retwist my own locs and this was super helpful! Thx !!!!
I just got a 2 month retwist about a week ago, and got two strand twist to hold the new growth, I think Im gonna start doing this from now on
Child my locs are every direction lol...I done messed up but I dont care. My locs will do its thing either way....I started on June 26th.
They look so good 😊

Locs looking beautiful!!!!
yes your hair is beautiful
Thank you for Putting me on
love your video and the positive energy you radiate! what camera holder do you use for the shower?
I use my phone!
Hey, your hair is lovely! Did you retwist all the way or just half way?
This is nice and you hair type looks like mine will retwist my loc with this method but I need to ask is d gel you used water based
Glad I saw this before starting my 2nd set. Thx for posting.
obviously found this video for a reason lol..to retwist…BUT THAT SKINNNN😍girl you glowin

KeAndrea Williamson idk maybe, but now I’m paranoid. I want my locs to be thick, and I don’t want my root to thin!!
Mya Wesley yeah I got them palm rolled!
Idk maybe wait a little longer before going back to retwist
KeAndrea Williamson okay thank you so much 😊
Looks amazing
Sis look at those beautiful locd
Ur locs look gr8t
Hey! Can I use eco-styling gel as a replacement for the gel?
I also never palm roll. I'm gonna be 4 months on 8/5. I've heard that palm rolling can thin out the locs
It can! That’s why I normally don’t palm roll the entire length of my hair cause I really don’t want that to happen lol
I can definitely see the length difference between the before and after video
Imma try my first retwist myself. Thk u
Great video 💜
Plant based🌱 video coming soon ?
You’re so beautiful queen 💙
How often is this done? Washing and retwisting?

How long does this retwist method last? And how often can you retwist your locs with this method? I am wondering if this is something I can do weekly
How many sections do I need n how many rows of sections should I have to get dreads like youngboy
Hi ❤ is there a particular reason why sometimes you retwist by twisting the new growth with index and thumb, sometimes twirl it around your finger, and sometimes you palm roll? I hope that makes sense. Love your channel!
Okay I heard you say you like twirling bc palm rolling can get awkward in terms of positioning your hands?
When is the best time to retwist starter locs? I recently washed mine and they are looking messy, but I don’t want to retwist too much. This method also looks easier to do than palm rolling. Which method do you prefer?

You make clip placement look so easy 😂 last retwist i was struggling
GIRL 💀💀💀 you should’ve seen my very first retwist I did ever with my first set! It was awful and took me 6 hours just because of the clips
😂😭 they just be un
twisting and flying everywhere not holding crap for me!
Sooooo I’m in my baby loc stage right now and idk when i should retwist it and I’m just wondering when should i?
So did you leave your hair damp after washing your hair ? Or did you blow dry your hair then start ?
It's left damp
How long do you leave the clips in for?
Until my hair is fully dry!
Hello there so my question is when I'm Retwistin my hair how can keep the roots from coming I loose please help me I started my locks 6 months ago 😭 thank you 😊 🙏🏽

Hello! Do you leave the clips in overnight?
no! only until they are dry! my scalp is not built to have clips in overnight 😭
I’m 6 months into my loc journey, am I able to retwist my own locs?? I haven’t had my locs retwisted in 5 weeks???? Or would that mess up my locs?
Do you just gel and twist the new growth?
I could not stop looking at your skin like mbnnn
Thank you my love!! 🥰🥰🥰
Heyyyy new subieee🥰❤ I tried coil method but I didn't like it so I will twist my hair todayyy
How did you get your hair lookkng so soft yet in strands

Hey! I just meant I wash half of it at a time!

I retwist this way but only because my locs are short. Lol!
I’m glad I came across this video no one in the city wants to do my hair apparently 😂
So we use a gel not the wax? I was about to buy wax. Any hair gel?
You can just use water and oil.. no wax or gel needed.
You started with two strand twist ?
Hey Dez, How many locs do you have on your pretty head girl?
