I'm still learning Te Reo, so I think I can tell you what it means literally, but things tend to be far more metaphorical in Te Reo Maori than in English.
Te kore - the void, the realm of potential
Te kore te whiwhia - the void of nothingness
Te kore te kerekere - the intense void
Te kore te pō maua - from the void, our night
Te kore te matua - (from?) the void, the supreme being
As I understand it, the concept of Io (ee-or) is similar to that advanced by the enlightenment deists. A being that is the universe itself, which through its sheer existence or consciousness sets in motion the cosmic play and evolution.
