Blue shirt gum guy made out big with the Curry deal. Man was on a mission. Thought he’d throw in his kid if Geoff didn’t agree. Way to get the deal done. That’s an amazing card.
That last trade (the headline subject title) not to "spoil" any aspect of what it is and how it ended was so intriguing and engaging, high sports card geek / collectibles nerd drama !!! I loved it !!! Great episode!!! This is my testimonial to tell folks to watch this in its entirety.
Marshall Fogel is the man who owns the most desired Mickey Mantle rookie card in existence. At the time when he purchased the card, most people thought he was insane to purchase such a thing for roughly $130K. Today we know the card is priceless and fetches a conservative $40 to 50 million. Now, he admitted to Geoff that he didn't care if there were more of them out there; all he wanted was the one he purchased. The reason I remind everyone about this story is to prove a point. We are kids at heart, through and through. Marshall's story is the same story for this entrepreneur who just bought his holy grail. It's moments like this that define who we are and what makes this hobby so great. Be bold and courageous and always take calculated risks when the outcome will improve the quality of your life.

It was fun to watch you sweat through that deal Geoff. I know I’d be as uncertain as can be letting go of that Curry NT. Glad you’re always willing to get down with the average guy at shows!
@@jwiedle86 I’ll at least level with you and say the “average” collector probably doesn’t even have $10K to spend on a card/show. However that was the fun part of that one deal out of the many he’s posted this weekend. The NT guy also didn’t have $150K to spend on the Curry. He had to trade up for it and get creative.
So many comments about Geoff losing some of these trades “I can’t believe he did that” blah blah. Geoff is a professional in the hobby. It’s not always about the money for Geoff, he genuinely likes to make people in the hobby happy and if that’s him losing trades to make someone’s day by getting them a card they want, he does it no questions asked.
Thanks for the content and making yourself so available to all levels of collectors for trades. I'm sure for a lot of these people being able to say they did a deal for a card with you adds a lot of personal value and meaning
pretty cool... what I learned in watching this is to be willing to not be overly attached to anything in the PC. I thought that trade was incredibly fair and awesomely negotiated. Now I need to learn to start moving cards like this.
It's a lot easier not to be overly attached to anything in the PC when you have people coming up to you with insane offers for your cards lol. If you're into cards to sell/flip/profit only, then it's a good lesson to learn, but if you're into cards for the love of it as well, then it is good to have a PC/have a few cards that you're not willing to part with for your own reasons.
I mean if it's a PC item, and you don't want to sell something. No need to. There are some who are just strictly collectors, and while flippers serve their purpose I guess, not everything has to be an investment. Geoff is in that 1 to 3 percent, who can just buy pretty much any card when he wants, but most people are not in that luxury.
That was awesome, the young guy was stoked. I hope it wasn’t something just for the camera though, he does do 6 figure deals so he’s probably not worried about a couple bucks to help the kids out.
Idk man, that’s tough. Curry changed the NBA and made the Warriors one of the most valuable teams in the world. Not to mention he’s a 4x Champion and the greatest shooter ever. I feel like the value will only go up over time for his cards
I didn’t think Geoff was going to go for that last deal, but when “blue shirt gum guy” threw that extra card in, Geoff was like, “other way, I gotta turn around and get this deal done.”
I think now would be the time to buy since they seem to be rare and not a lot of attention towards them. Ive never seen or heard of these before. I’m starting to look on eBay as I type this!
My favorite part of your videos is seeing such young kids doing such high-priced deals. I collected in the 90's and this was not available for young kids. I bought 1$ or 5$ cards and that was a lot for me. Now, these kids are taking thousands in cash out of their back packs. That is insane.
Those 84-85 Jordan cards are gems to me! Don’t see those everyday and surely a decent long term play for what was paid for them. They’d be straight in my PC for sure! And the Curry deal had me nervous; was tough! And then Geoff hit him with the $8,000 on top to close the deal 😀 Time will tell whether that one was a good deal or not.

And he still gets the greats of modern times in Jordan and Curry on top of cash that he could put in a high yield account to generate 5% interest in todays economy.
