  • When Albert Einstein was young, he struggled to find a job despite his brilliance. After earning his PhD in 1905, he was unable to secure a teaching position because his unconventional thinking and reluctance to conform to academic norms made it difficult for him to gain favor with his professors. Additionally, his critical attitude towards authority and the fact that he was not particularly sociable hindered his ability to network effectively.
    Einstein eventually found a job as a patent examiner at the Swiss Patent Office in Bern. This job was not related to his field, but it provided him the stability to continue his scientific work in his spare time. Ironically, this period turned out to be one of the most productive in his life, leading to the publication of some of his most important papers, including the theory of relativity.
