It's simply insane that Lin Dan's on court intelligence was sufficient to counteract Ginting's speed and aggression in 2019 when Lin Dan was way past his prime and Ginting was in top form.
It was So painful to watch Lin Dan hobble around like an old man in the last few years. He wasn't really the same from 2014 with his dodgy knees tbh but still managed to keep pace with the new generation until 2018/19.
Lindan can still compete with Ginting in 2019, one year before he retired.

It's clear that Ginting plays very accurately with respect to legend. Ginting can increase temp and speed. However he take a masterclass from Lin Dan and perform a show for us.

You can't say Ginting is too far below Lin Dan in this game. As you can see, Ginting has superb smashes and trick shots that Lin Dan was unable to retrieve. But Lin Dan is as always his best.
LD is 36 yr old here. Badminton is a young man's sport. Prime is about 22-28.
LD is a walking corpse in badminton terms - him and CW were both considering retirement and openly talking about it before London 2012.

Lol the statement far better than LD is over exaggerated. There's no doubt Lee Hyun Il might have the best footwork. Lin Dan is also known for his smooth footwork too. Lin Dan is a all round player.
@@dickyminer3030 His smooth footwork is based on his good anticipation (just like lee hyun il). Actually, Xia Xuan Ze (Mens singles headcoach) stated that Lin Dan's footwork sin't that good. I am of no Caliber to judge, but it seems to me that it isn't an exaggeration.

After that, no matter what, any Korean Men Single face with LD always lose, they said LD will fight no matter what to win with Korean. And after Olympic 2008, also dont need to say about back to back Olympic Champion 2012, Korean athletes, or Lee Huyn Il, never can be compared.
