Thank you for this great explanation 😊❤ I have a question : Do lymphocytes RANDOMLY decide to cross a certain high endothelial venule into a certain lymph node ??regarding this context matching between a given lymphocyte and its corresponding antigen carried on an APC will occur by chance in case that the lymphocyte of interest ,BY CHANCE,has determined to enter this particular lymph node ,right ? and if hasn't the APC will remain waiting for this lymphocyte till its arrival, right ?
Great question! 😊 Lymphocytes don’t randomly choose where to go-they follow signals to specific lymph nodes. If they find their matching antigen there, they connect. If not, the APC waits for the right lymphocyte to arrive. It’s all about giving the immune system multiple chances to respond!
@msr_podcast Oh, thank you so much😊. But What are these signals ? and Are these signals produced to guide lymphocytes only in case of infection or even in non-infection situations ? And if a certain high endothelial venule exhibits a signal, does that mean that all lymphocytes will receive this signal and cross into this lymph node?? Thank you for your help
