Okay, enough P words, going wide has been a strategy for a long time and card like overrun have allowed players to make an alpha swing but always leave themselves vulnerable to a fog cast on their attackers. True you may not get all of your creatures through, but this card turns every single creature on your side into a must-stop attacker while not leaving you vulnerable to a counter attack.
Kind of sad nobody mentioned Niv Mizzet, Visionary. The fact that Niv can go infinite with himself is just such a flavor win for arguably the biggest ego in the multiverse. Plus, burn and pingers drawing you cards and a decent body is just fun.
Oh man, I got absolutely destroyed by Loot at the pre release. I was attacking with my only two creatures, my opponent had Loot ready to activate and 7 lands total. He reveals a Meteor Golem, destroys my biggest attacker and then trades with the smaller one. Ever been 0-for-2ed and fogged at instant speed? I don't recommend it...
I'm surprised none of you chose Quilled Greatwurm for your lists. This spikey dude is green's entry into the "Bomb Mythic Creature" psuedo-cycle. 4GG for a 7/7 with trample is already above rate, but wait there's more! There are a lot of expensive big green mythic creatures that look great but perform worse than expected, but I think this guy is one of the exceptions. Quilled Greatwurm has a lot of the things I look for in a big expensive creature, it has evasion, it has an effect the same turn its played and it has repeatable recursion. It is very easy to miss exactly how good the second ability is on first look. First off, the wurm doesn't need to attack so you can start getting counters the turn you play it if you have a creature ready to attack. Second, it counts combat damage dealt to anything, not just players. Last but not least, all combat damage is dealt simultaneously so if you alpha strike the wurm will "see" your other creatures deal combat damage and trigger even if the wurm itself dies from combat damage. Quilled Greatwurm doesn't really ask anything of your deck except to attack and play creatures which is green's specialty. It is scarily easy for this guy to snowball out of control. Doubling the size of your board each turn is one fast clock.
Been playing with the set, there are SO many crazy cards
I wonder if anyone else noticed, that because Sire of Seven Deaths deals 7 damage, you trigger those various mechanics that refer to having 13 life...
"Can't be countered" doesn't guarantee it hits the bord. I've been hating this "end turn" card 🤣🤣
