I just got a GMC 2500 AT4 with L8T. I do not tow wnough to justify the diesel and diesel costs on the East Coast are excessive! Thus far I get 15-16 mpg highway which was the same as my 2016 Tundra TRD Pro. Wish it got 18 mpg highway but am thankful it takes 87 octane.
I have no real complaint on my 2024 3500 with the lt8 i get between 14-15 mgp. I own nothing but diesels before this truck. This is my first gas truck. I do tow with it max weight i towed with it so far was a little over 18000lbs and it did just fine. Will be towing this weight again this weekend.
The reason there was so much buildup on the intake valves was same reason they have problems with the map sensor filling up with soot....epa and emissions running your crankcase vent back into the intake and part of the exhaust....your a smart man most ppl wouldn't even think to look at tire size and think how much are them going to cost or there's only 1 size that fits now what you can't them they're on national backorder?? LOL KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING
The more and more I look into the L8T, the more I’m leaning towards diesel, as much as I wanted to be done with modern diesels. GM needs more fuel efficient gas options and more gearing options.
I got a 2020 2500hd l5p and it's a complete lemon. I just hit the magical 50 codes since new, 64 more miles and I will hit 60k. I can't trust it as it has left me stranded in 7 states. Just picked it up again on Friday from the dealership. When it works it's great... but canceling so far 5 camping trips because the unreliability of it is just crap. Please do your research before you drop the money on a diesel. The forums are full of problems... I am going away from diesel and back to gas and definitely not Chevrolet as they don't stand behind their products. Also, look at their warranty, most of your emissions are not covered after the 36k bumper to bumper.
55 PSI for the 70 series tires on 18" wheel on a HD along with those dual spool valve shocks makes this truck ride MUCH smoother than 20" wheels with tires inflated 70-80 PSI on standard shocks.
This is the best-looking GM truck on the market. I would love to see an updated/upgraded gas engine for GM trucks. Something other than the current 6.6 liter gas. Fantastic looking truck.
401 horsepower from the gas engine is still 91 hp more than my 1970 C30 had , and that was in the peak of the muscle car wars . After 1970 they started cutting power , by '75 the 454 was only putting out 240 hp , yet we managed to pull trailers without any problems . Of course we had either 4.10 or 4.56 rear gears and either a 3 speed automatic, or 4 speed manual transmission with a deep low first gear , and no overdrives .
@@JB_WhoWork I realize that this truck is a four wheel drive with a crew cab , but where did they get close to 4,000 lbs of dead weight ? Remember that there is an awful lot of plastic in these newer trucks , where mine was all steel .

Considering the new Tacoma’s are running in the mid 60’s for pro and trail hunter, this is price accordingly. Trucks have just been running up the last several years
Idk i have 2500 zr2 non aev edition gas truck but mine does not have the button to role down all the windows at once, not sure if this is a mishap on gm part or not, other than that love the truck so far
I ordered a ZR2 2500HD with the L8T two weeks ago. I do not tow over 8k lbs. and no steep terrain. I idle a lot so no re-gen worries, no MAPS sensor maintenance, no DEF and diesel is 40 cents higher in my region. If these diesel negatives went away I would go diesel even at 40 cents a gallon higher.
With that size truck, Diesel is a must for mileage alone. I had a 2020 Denali Duramax and would never own that truck with a 401hp gas engine. It would be way underpowered and I don't like the 12mpg around town. If you cant afford an extra $10 when filling up then you shouldn't be shopping for a new HD. Maintenance is easy on a Diesel, the internet makes everyone scared of them. Unless you own a landscape Co or something which you tow local all the time, Diesel is the way to go.
@@fit4ya1975 this is flawed logic. It’s not about if you can or cannot afford gas. It’s about buying what fits your need. AEV states they will sell the bumpers by late summer or fall so we shall see.
Sorry to tell you this man but there’s no diesel that’s port injection. The way diesel works requires direct injection and has been direct since it was invented. The intake gunk you see on diesels is not because of that but because of the EGR system. Insert rainbow and “the more you know”.
