You certainly keep making Monday evening interesting. Great revival. Just a suggestion, but since that rig needs an exhaust and it's pretty deserving of more episodes.... it would be great to see you create some crazy exhaust stack for it.
I just want to say I appreciate your videos Puddin, this week especially. Tomorrow is going to be a difficult day for me as I have to carry my Grandpas casket in his funeral. Best video yet!!! I'm a mini trucker for life I got me a 94 Isuzu SS 396. Wish I hadn't been diagnosed with ALS Lou Gehrig's Disease or I would definitely build me another truck all because of watching your videos thanks for keeping my spirits up and my hopes alive Mr. puddin You make sure you and your family have yourselfs a wonderful day today and everyday
Now THAT was an AWESOME get!!! That "duulee" just became my favorite ride of your impressive fleet! Your vacuum delete efforts were just legendary shtuff! Made my Monday!!!
It’s always amazing how your videos can turn a bad day into one of the best days. Love your videos. Keep them coming and may god bless you and your family
This is gonna be the ultimate representation of Pott County! Love the Toyota and Datsun content. That particular one is not an official 1 ton unit, just a camper conversion from Toyota. 22R engines are nearly as simple as the Datsun L-series. Keep up the excellent content, Puddin! Fun fact - the first bit of vacuum you removed was a high altitude diaphragm for leaning out the carburetor at elevation, it's connected to the vacuum advance.
Are you kidding me! I have been absolutely looking for one of them forever! I daily drive a 89 Toyota pickup with a 22R and have been looking everywhere for one of them dually trucks! I want it!
“I’m not a carburetor guy, guys” as he tears yet another carb apart! This doolee is my new favorite Puddin truck. Hey! Send Mortske a new loser switch and he might send you a scraper!!
Nice to see you picked a 2nd gen. These are great trucks I daily drive mine 280k and counting. Also quick side note when you bleed the brakes make sure to also bleed the lSPV ( load sensing proportioning valve) if you don't bleed that after bleeding all four brakes the pedal will still have crappy pressure ask me how I know.
I absolutely LOVE that truck!! The dually wheels and the sweet flatbed! Oh my god it is perfect! I can't wait to see you work your magic on her! Thank you for all your hard work man. I for one greatly appreciate your effort!

Thanks for sticking with TH-cam, no idea how you did it for so many years while working full time but am glad you did. Keep the laughs a rolling mini truck king!
Hey puddin! Love the mini box truck videos. I was looking at the floor of the bagged truck. My thoughts would be to have a flat floor with added storage under the front and the back where it steps back down to maximize the usage if the floor. Great place for the compressors and air tank.
I viewed so many of your vid's I don't know the actual number and every one of them I have the same reaction. "What the", "Huh", jaw droppin' I can't believe he just did that moments. You sir are the best.
I think you found a good truck! The 22R is a great engine even when abused like this one was. Makes me wonder why it was junked? Maybe too many mods done the wrong way made them give up on the truck? I hope too see you get this one back on the road or at least use the engine for another project! We had the same engine in our Toyota mini van when I lived in Panama. As a kid I gave it lots of abuse slamming it into second on a corner and locking up the rear tires to slide it around the corner. It had two air conditioners for front and rear! No heat but would keep you freezing all day long! We sold it to some friends who then sold it to a taxi driver. I went to the beach most weekends with about 12 of my friends! The thing wouldn’t break down and if it didn’t rust out it’s probably still running in Panama! I think it was a 1983 van with the same engine as this truck you have! How many stick shift vans have you seen? Ours was a 5 speed. I hope you have as much luck with yours as we did ours!
@@derpydog1008 yup! The 80’s were great for vacuum lines! Ours didn’t have all that junk on it and ran on leaded gas! It was built for Australia but sold in Panama for the A/C. Best vehicle we’ve ever owned!
Good video Mr puddin always puts me in a better mood makes me smile and laugh. Gives me hope along with joy seeing that there's still normal people left in this world. Keep up the videos puddin.
Puddin' - Yeah Buddy!! Way to go....NICE JOB!!! Just find a prospect, take care of her every problem, don't give up, have a frickin' hoot while you're doin' her, and when you're all done, you're so happy ya decide to keep 'er!! You should write a book!!

Howdy from a native Texan living in the south of France ... so happy for you. I've always been a Toyota fan since the '70's and have a 2000 HiLux 2.4 Turbo Diesel 4x4 over here. She cannot be destroyed ... rolled her in the Alps one year - engine kept chugging, hit the electric lockers and sidewall crawled her level again (yeah, the mirror and side got "smoothed" too). So I wish you congrats on your rare find ... that 22R will give you a million miles of service. Can't wait for the next installment ... Hook'em ;)
My first vehicle ever was a 92 Toyota 1/2 ton. So Toyota mini-trucks always hold a special place in my heart, I'm glad to see this girl get a second chance at life. As for a name, I'm kinda digging "Dooley"
Puddin this might sound crazy an I'm sure it is but u have enough subscribers that would bid on that tree in the back of your flatbed Toyota. There is hundreds upon hundreds of You Tubers that are even bidding on dead cockroaches, used tampons, women's used underwear and spending a lot of money on ridiculous items.
If you don't know what it does chances are you don't need it. Besides that's how you learn. Nothing prompts more research more than a no start with no obvious solution
That thing is awesome. Guy up my way modified a newer longbox with some home made custom fiberglass dually fenders for one, looks factory! The flatbed is pretty hot though, and will be really useful. That front end looks mint on that truck! Shine that chrome! That is one truck in your fleet I wouldn't lower down. I like the idea of a turbo on that thing. I am sure others have done it already, probably some good aftermarket out there for it. It's doesn't need to go fast, but it would pull some stuff! Set it up with a small one so it spins up quick and use it for the torque boost instead of going for RPM HP. Put a string of battery powered Christmas lights on your..... decoration... and open the next video with a night time shot driving through the field.
I'm still mad at myself for selling my '86 yota for pretty much nothing. I was not nice to that poor truck. I sold it to a guy that needed a vehicle about ten years ago. I saw him still driving it about six months ago. That 22r is an amazing example of fine engineering.
My Grandfather had one just like that and man at the money that old truck helped us make!! You won't ever get tired of having that old girl around!! Never once did it have any problems!!
Worked on those 22R motors when they were new. Decent motor but way under powered. Even the 22RE was weak. Will need to drop it into 3rd gear from 5th with a 500 pound or more load to go up hill on a road.
You prob don't read the comments but man!!! I really enjoy your channel. I admire all that you put into get it done. Putting cameras in place running back to to get the shot then running after the cameras and on to the next one. I can understand not having enough time with all you have taken on with the channel. Glad you are here and we love the family. Hang in there brother👌👍👍
Call that thing Flipper. It's a nice platform to build a will it run rig on. A built in air compressor, dual batteries with a decent sized inverter, A tool box, a winch on the bed, a winch in the front. Then you can go out and make stuff run in a field if you want to.
Today is September 21 and I just received my stickers and I want to thank Hot rod for packing my stickers I received them in tip top shape again a big thank you and for the great shows they make me happy!
I'm so thankful you got some milwaukee tools. I used Dewalt for 7 years every day and definitely don't regret swapping. The batteries hold charge much longer and you can't argue with the power! I hope Milwaukee Tools finds your golden content and gives you a sponsorship my friend
Yodas are always the berry best running trucks every time. Its a keeper! Good job striping all the vacuum lines. The first start was easy wow. heater doors fresh air under the dash will probably not work now unless you can get a vacuum line to it. Good gosh get rid of the rat ship in the floors a high pressure washer and a rain suit would help. Take the seat out and pressure wash away.
Bill wearing the mask the whole ride kills me when puddin mashes the gas and starts screaming “oh yea baby!!!” Can’t tell if he’s smiling or shi**in his pants!!
I'm NOT a flatbed guy.....but I mean...it's a dually 'yota rescued from a yard and with just a bit of tinkering came back to life! Can't wait to see where this goes.
I own a 1988 Toyota Pickup with 135K miles which I bought from the original owner. I was shocked at the number of vacuum lines! Still mostly original except I converted the starting circuit to a Ford solenoid.
Thank you for the rant on the "cold air intake" kit crap. Folks don't want to hear the plain fact that unless you pipe it to the outside or cool it with a nitrogen charge it's just sucking the same hot air as the stock breather did. Love the flat bed dude!
Man, that cold air intake joke was perfect. Build up to punchline and then the K.O. Nice slow burn. "Well how would you do a cold air intake, tough guy?" Lemme show ya. Ha! I was dying. I had to rewind and watch it again.
I daily a 84 re xtra cab- took me from California to North Dakota twice then to New York and back to Texas last year. Those rigs do pretty good. I’m near as excited as you are to have one.
2000 comments! Holy shit! I'm working on a 49 shoebox, doin all the same shit you did to Chris'. I clean up after myself and head right on in to watch like it was an episode of Married with Children. The pressure washing stuff is helarious. You can do a whole show of just that, and I'd laugh my ass off the whole time. You guys are really dialing in the shtick to perfection. The editing, the bumpkinning, just getting better every day. Thank you guys for your contribution to hilarity. Keep it comin as thick as you can spoon it.
I like the tree and I like that you just kind of left it there, that's pretty slick. I know a mechanic that worked on cars for 32 years and apparently those Toyota engine ar bulletproof you should get at least a half a million miles out of it if you take care of it, Japanese truck industry made those engines really really well top-notch engineering Ps what fire
I believe that solenoid is to charge the house battery when the engine is running when it was a motorhome. or to combine the two if the engine battery dies.
back in the 80s used to have a bucket full of colored cloths pins to make em pass smog in california. red to red ,blue to blue ect. almost ran out of colors
2 weeks ago youtube suggestions led me to channels like NoNonsenseKnowHow, PoleBarn Garage and Mickelson Racing Channel....all of those guys mentioned Mortskes channel at one point in their videos so I had to find out who he was, really liked Mortske and I have been binge watching his channel a lot lately. Mortske keeps mentioning Puddin in his videos so I figured I was gonna have to check it out, well here I am watching the first ever Puddin video...no regrets, you got a new subscriber!! great video, perfect amount of comic relief in a revival video! thank you!
I'm not sure how I stumbled across your channel, but I'm glad I did. Everyone I've showed your stuff to loves it, even the non car people. Keep up the great work and the growth. It's awesome seeing you be able to make a living at this.
Drove the identical truck 32 years ago while working for a hardware store. It had ramps and the flatbed tilted for loading lawn equipment. Awesome truck!
I was waiting for you to pull that tree off the bed, lol
What tree?
That's part of the design! Lol
Love da tree 🎄🎄🎄 what with the truck decor trend's 🚛
the tree is a hell of a lot nicer than Mortske's tree. I was waiting for you to water it.
Its a lifesize tree air freshener!
The last few years it's been hard to find something to smile about, but since I found your channel it's all smiles here! Thank you!

"Well how would you do a cold air intake, tough guy?"
Lemme show ya.
Ha! I was dying. I had to rewind and watch it again.
Man this is great. I want an old truck so bad. Just something to tool around in.
I loved my little ‘89 Toyota truck!
Almost ready for the next Christmas 🎄 parade
I daily a 84 re xtra cab- took me from California to North Dakota twice then to New York and back to Texas last year. Those rigs do pretty good. I’m near as excited as you are to have one.
Make that Toyota a revival rig you can put tool boxes and everything else you need on it and still have a work bench too
2000 comments!
Love your cold air intake rant, couldnt agree more
You got so much knowledge on these trucks! Sweet!
Them old 22re motors are bulletproof. Ran mine on 3 cyl for over a year.
I like the tree and I like that you just kind of left it there, that's pretty slick. I know a mechanic that worked on cars for 32 years and apparently those Toyota engine ar bulletproof you should get at least a half a million miles out of it if you take care of it, Japanese truck industry made those engines really really well top-notch engineering
Ps what fire
I believe that solenoid is to charge the house battery when the engine is running when it was a motorhome. or to combine the two if the engine battery dies.
back in the 80s used to have a bucket full of colored cloths pins to make em pass smog in california. red to red ,blue to blue ect. almost ran out of colors
I wish I could find a truck like that. You did a great job.
That thing looks pretty clean under the hood. Beaut
Mortske keeps mentioning Puddin in his videos so I figured I was gonna have to check it out, well here I am watching the first ever Puddin video...no regrets, you got a new subscriber!! great video, perfect amount of comic relief in a revival video! thank you!
You gone have a show on television, I see it in the future yet coming soon. You will have your own show. You will
I'm not sure how I stumbled across your channel, but I'm glad I did. Everyone I've showed your stuff to loves it, even the non car people. Keep up the great work and the growth. It's awesome seeing you be able to make a living at this.
A clean engine is a happy engine. Glad to see you do that before touching anything under the bonnet.
Drove the identical truck 32 years ago while working for a hardware store. It had ramps and the flatbed tilted for loading lawn equipment. Awesome truck!
