Add a pixel in the water stream just before the servo and black out the section so the light stays trapped in the water stream. This will really boost the effect. Last I'd add a fire effect at the top maybe a simple butane bubble with a surface spark or torch

Since this video tour I have made a newer version of my fountain that can be seen here: th-cam.com/video/JKF7rQckCgk/w-d-xo.html I have considered making small ring lights that would fit around the nozzles on each servo but I would want the design to be similar to one of Wet Design's "Oarsman" devices. The fire effect would definitely add a new dynamic to the show and I have been working on a concept with a device normally used to remotely fire pyrotechnics. Thanks for watching!

Hi there! Sorry for the late response. It is actually quite simple to accomplish. Starting in my V6 project I incorporated variable height pumps and a new control system. If you use DC pumps (I use 12V ones) and an RGB/LED controller (I use the Light O Rama CTB24D) you can adjust the voltage/height of the pumps. As far as exactly which pumps to use it depends on your application and independent testing. I have found some pumps that don't like to respond smoothly when given commands to increase and decrease in voltage. The only way to know a certain type pump with work well is to test it. The important thing to remember is the pumps MUST BE DC, preferably either 12V or 24V.

So I am planning building a fountain show like yours and I would like to ask 3 things. 1 - Where were you able to get your pumps, containers and servos from? 2 - What are the size of the pump holes in inches? I need to find a tube to fit it for the oarsmen. 3 - Could you give me some tips about building these fountains, using light o rama etc? Thank you! Keep up the great work!
Spectacular! I have a 16-channel LOR gifted to me by a friend, who used it to run a Halloween light show. Shall I assume that this, several years old now, will indeed not control inductive loads such as fountain pumps?
It very well may work. Fundamentally their AC controllers haven't changed too much. The main issue with older models is that when you run very low power devices on them they tend not to respond properly. You can add a small light bulb or something that draws more power to each channel to alleviate the issue.
The servos are pretty vulnerable to water so one additional step that I took to keep water out was the use of black plastic bags that slip over the nozzle and cover the entire servo to act as a splash guard. It is possible that condensation could form inside of the bags so I also used a waterproof glue along any seams on the servo casing and applied marine grease around the servo horn.
@@grantsfountainchannel4173 OK understand. My plan was to maybe use 20-30cm links, that run below the water, and the servo is then mounted outside the pool. Do you still work on fountain? I have ordered 20x small 4w pumps. And my plan is to control this With a 36ch dmx controller. I also have 2 laminar nozzles.

So I'm going to be doing a project similar to what you've done (not as extravagant) and would like to pick your brain if you've got a few minutes. I'm in Southern California area and have just completed building the concrete pond structure and I've been discussing pumps with a couple of manufacturers in Alibaba.
