Fantastic, a very informative review showing with non-biased analysis of the pros and cons that someone could expect if they decide to purchased this wall mount vacuum. 👍
Thanks for the video. I had mounted mine (to a 24" x 3/4" plywood backer lag bolted to the studs), mounted the brackets and struggled with mounting it on the wall. Then I searched TH-cam looking to see if someone had a "trick" to get it to slide into the brackets. Turns out I had the same issue - off by less than a qtr inch. They must be 6" apart at the top of the brackets. The middles extend outward a bit and will leave them too far apart.
Almost 400 bucks for that. I would say that's pretty pricey. I have their wall mounted pressure washer. Wasn't impressed with it but it works for what I need. I got on Facebook marketplace found a used Kenmore central vac system for 60 buck with a 30ft hose. For something that's nonprofessional grade 400 bucks is way too high. You can get professional grade equipment for the same price.
Good video, very informative, good honest demo.
My 2 cents worth now. I agree with you as well on a single mounting bracket. On the install instead of using 3 washers get some fender washers. They work great for this. Just wondering if the hose is crush proof (returns to normal if stepped on)? Do they sell a special filter for drywall dust? You don't want that stuff getting by the regular filter and into the motor. You shouldn't have to pay extra for the handle with the on/off switch. Finally, people who have a central vacuum will have it mounted in their garage and they usually have an outlet/inlet built into them for a garage hose making this unit not needed. The review though was great as usual. Thanks from David in Ontario, Canada.
Hey Cruiseman. Thanks for your videos. Unrelated question... where did you get the thing on the floor you put your center stand on to protect the floor? I've been trying to find something that will work for me as I have a tiled floor in my garage. Thanks.
It is a vinyl floor tile left over from when I had vinyl tile flooring.

Hi Chris. I agree on the mounting bracket. I have installed so many things that had 2 brks and 1 would have worked soooo much better. The wood ,yea I have done that many times. The only thing I may have done differently. is go all the way across to mount both pieces and or used 3/4 or 1 " plywood and paint. You need to hit at least 2 studs with something that heavy. The tray should have a drain valve of some kind, I mean if it was full of water, how heavy would that be? I know you didn't make the thing, still, a great product for a lot of consumers out there I Believe. Great review as always. Oh, are you crazy? Put all that crap in your new bike ? duh LOL Off subject a dealer told me the only way to properly reset the DCT is to have it hooked up to their computer, for a small fee of course. I have a 23. your thoughts? Be safe.
Good point about the need for a drain. I had the 2x3s lying around as scrap from another project. I like the ¾” plywood idea better.
Is this guy Randy Johnson?
Very good review. Appreciate your transparency and honesty. Me question is, if you were to pay $389 for this as opposed to getting it for free, would you pay the asking price for it. Or would you pay for something like dewalt or rigid wall unit vacuum half the price of this unit.
Good question. Honestly, I probably would not have purchase a garage vac had they not approached me to do a review. My brother, on the other hand, DID purchase one for $389 for his garage to replace his Craftsman wall mounted garage vac.
@@cruisemansgarage Thank you for the quick response. Did you mean that you would prefer to use standard shop vac type on wheels instead of wall mounted unit?
