Zealots who don't really know anything about... anything, really. Don't know the proper guidelines on how to make something decent. Can't write fiction, because they don't know how to write real-life, because they want to lie about their lives in the first place. When there's no honesty, there is no virtue. When there is no virtue, there is nothing to make that is remotely upheld on the backbone of integrity and decency. It becomes patronizing fluff, full of hot air that signifies nothing. Relying only on the emotion, with no greater understanding of the self.
15 years ago, a property like Guardians of the Galaxy (even though it had the Marvel brand name behind it) was a considerable risk in Hollywood. Rebellion just needs to take a shot and stop dragging their feet, people want cool stuff, what's old is new to the next generation, especially if they've been sitting on cool properties that haven't had the chance to breathe.
I think it make sense that It's gonna be animated as the main character is a blue person with glowing eyes and most of the set pieces would probably have to be CGI'ed in anyways.
If Matt Berry is Bagman, then I'm here for it. That being said, the cast being females heavy might suggest that they're going to rush the expanded Venus storyline in way too soon in the name of pandering and the whole project might well be shafted from a real fan's perspective.
2000ad has gone STAGGERINGLY woke. i tried to get back into it recently and by god both story and art there now are appalling. incredible considering the MASTERS that worked there in the past. if the same sentiment is in Rebellion.......

It is what led me into comics and games. 2000 AD and Michael Moorcock are two of my favourite things and in my youth all I wanted was movies and games. The last 15 or so years had beaten any desire for them out of me. At least we got Dredd, Urban was a God in that movie.

Aneurin Barnard is a Welsh actor I've followed for a while who's a pretty solid actor. He also played the doctor in the later seasons of Peaky Blinders which some may recognise him from. Really good supporting cast and I can't believe I haven't heard of Rogue Trooper until now. Some original characters and stories finally. Look forward to it.

ANY news is good news, I guess? It being animated is slightly weird BUT I reckon this will be a way for them to test the waters for audience demand for potential future 2000AD projects, without expending full-blown levels of £ on feature live-action movies. Hopefully this means we'll be seeing more 2000AD series/movies in future...... Especially more Dredd 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
I'm actually a bit relieved. 2000AD has always resonated with me 'because' of the many and varied talented artists and styles that make up their stories. Sure, you can interpret some into live action, like Dredd, but animation and a distinctive style can say SO much more, sometimes.

This was a weird take. I will give them props for this looking, so far, as it should because studios changing things in adaptations is one the biggest problems these days. And it's a good thing that it's animated. Why can't western comics enjoy the same 1:1 animated adaptations as manga does? Isn't that what we've all been wanting?
I agree. I'd love to see more films in the style of CG films like Advent Children, Appleseed, Starship Troopers, Resident Evil, Captain Harlock, etc. To do those in live action would probably be too expensive, but the CG route gives them a chance to get made.
I grew up reading Rogue Trooper along with many other characters from the 2000ad universe and really looking forward to this, I think the cast choices are brilliant.

I think Jones has learned from his experience with the Warcraft movie. I really enjoyed it but it would have been better if it didn't mix live action and CG characters and he'd just made the whole thing CG. I'd far rather have a fully generated CG movie than the live action drek churned out by Disney, filmed in the volume. I'm really excited to see what indie film makers can do with amazing new tools like UE5. Anything that undermines the monopoly of the big studios is a good thing.

love 2000ad i had it from the first issue and then all the mine comics.. then sadly i had to store them at a friends house as i had to move and that was the last i seen of them.. but i wish it had been a film also.. have a few ideas of who i would loved to have played rogue and his buddies.. but i knew it would never be.. i will still watch and love and enjoy the animated.. and i have to admit i have seen some awesome 2000ad short films fan made on youtube that deserve a film.. and i so wish they would make part 2 of judge Dredd with Anderson.. i would love to see the underworld city when he was chasing the white wearwolf with angerson.. that would rock
Not sure about the 3D cgi animation, I would prefer it be done in the same style as Heavy Metal. I mean they're use unreal engine 5 for the animation, which makes me a bit worried about how it's going to look. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first time that this software is being used for this?
All of 2000AD should be the biggest games/ movies out there, full stop, I was a massive fan from when it first came out, rebellion games should be nocking it out the park.

As I have restarted my interest in comics, I decided to include some things from 2000AD as well. Primarily "ABC WARRIORS & Rogue Trooper", some smaller things as well. But not everything is easy to get, 2000AD is kinda, well, not big, and some comics are sold out, or never released as a TPB in general, so it's a risk to get into this.

I understand the mindset of "just spend some more, make it a live action film", I really do. However, Unreal Engine 5 is lowering the barrier to entry to high quality CGI by such a huge margin that small indy studios or even motivated solos could bring these stories to life, and I'll bet you my last dollar they'll put more care, love and attention than the majors would.
Duncan Jones did two of my favorite movies Moon and Source Code but his last two movies were not that great. Hope this will be good I only know about Rougue Trooper because of the video game.

This will work perfectly in Animation, you would be talking Avatar size budgets for live action. The cast gives me great confidence.

My 2000AD favourites were Ace Garp, and Ace Trucking Co. Ace, GBH and Feek the Freak. Great stuff.

love 2000ad i had it from the first issue and then all the mine comics.. then sadly i had to store them at a friends house as i had to move and that was the last i seen of them.. but i wish it had been a film also.. have a few ideas of who i would loved to have played rogue and his buddies.. but i knew it would never be.. i will still watch and love and enjoy the animated.. and i have to admit i have seen some awesome 2000ad short films fan made on youtube that deserve a film.. and i so wish they would make part 2 of judge Dredd with Anderson.. i would love to see the underworld city when he was chasing the white wearwolf with angerson.. that would rock
Not sure about the 3D cgi animation, I would prefer it be done in the same style as Heavy Metal. I mean they're use unreal engine 5 for the animation, which makes me a bit worried about how it's going to look. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first time that this software is being used for this?
The 2000AD strips i really want to see as films are Nemesis the Warlock, Flesh, Strontium Dog and DR & Quinch.
All of 2000AD should be the biggest games/ movies out there, full stop, I was a massive fan from when it first came out, rebellion games
should be nocking it out the park.
They never got the dredd tv series off the ground too expensive I’d settle for animation hope this comes out and leads to more 2000ad characters out there Sean bean was great in pretty much anything he’s been in love to see slanie live action but I’d take anything at this point there’s a blue balls joke in rogue trooper some where if they make a live action one I’ll paint Halley atwell blue for free I’ll bring the paint too ❤

If this was coming out 15 or 20 years ago, I wouldn't be at all concerned about pandering to the wokies : but let me just bring to your attention that the most recent Dredd writer has come up with the storyline of "DEFUND THE JUDGES!" Because, "current day things!"

Love Rogue Trooper maybe more than Dredd (although the 2012 film restored some hope). Strontium Dog would be good but always looking for a live-action (I'd even accept animated) Halo Jones.

As I have restarted my interest in comics, I decided to include some things from 2000AD as well.
Primarily "ABC WARRIORS & Rogue Trooper", some smaller things as well.
But not everything is easy to get, 2000AD is kinda, well, not big, and some comics are sold out, or never released as a TPB in general, so it's a risk to get into this.

As long as they stick to the ethos and pathos of the original it will be awesome. At least with animation you won't hopefully get the actor's ego getting in the way. Karl Urban played Dredd as he was meant to be (HE never took his helmet off for a start!).

Ooh, 2000AD, the comic my Mum wouldn't buy me because my Cousins got it. I was expected to read their ones when we went round. But loving the sound of this. Love 2000AD, love Moon. Yeah, hoping this'll be pretty good. Let's face it, there's not been a lot of good recently with Disney buying & ruining everything we all love. You mention Dredd, the villain was a chick & damn she was awesome. Mind you Lena Headey brought a delicious psychopathy to Mama. Didn't bang on about it, did they?
I understand the mindset of "just spend some more, make it a live action film", I really do. However, Unreal Engine 5 is lowering the barrier to entry to high quality CGI by such a huge margin that small indy studios or even motivated solos could bring these stories to life, and I'll bet you my last dollar they'll put more care, love and attention than the majors would.
Duncan Jones did two of my favorite movies Moon and Source Code but his last two movies were not that great. Hope this will be good I only know about Rougue Trooper because of the video game.
I had high hopes for him based on those movies, but yeah he hasn’t done much since then. Hopefully, he gets back on track.
