I found you through Peter Draws and I’m awaiting my first order from you. It definitely won’t be the last. I’ll be 59 next week, and I had a fascination with fountain pens in elementary and junior high; but ever really got full bore into collecting them. I hope to change that. I’ve made lots of life changes recently, and one goal is to be more intentional with written correspondence. Our modern society is missing out on the treasures of the written word. Letters from family and friends from days gone by that can be handed down through generations is dying. Even proper handwriting isn’t being taught anymore. Liberty's Elysium is my absolute favorite ink. The color is perfect and honestly, there are many similar blues in that range, but Elysium is, in my opinion the most True Blue and importantly is at least semi-permanent. I don't know of any other ink that is that nice looking, blue, and permanent all at the time

Absolutely gorgeous ink!! It became known as Emerald of Chicken because someone was autocorrected on their computer from Chivor to Chicken. It's become a running joke since then. The ink, however, is not a joke, it's stunning. Personally I use it in a TWSBI Eco stub nib.
Tears still wet my eyes anytime I see a Dark Lilac Safari. It was my first "starter FP". It was the first actual FP I bought from Goulet (and which has really sparked my love for it). And it is the single one fountain pen I've completely lost and have no idea how (it might've been stolen). It's somewhat odd, and a bit dauting, to see that I've actually participated a little bit in the historical milestones for Goulet. Note: before buying my starter pen, I actually bought a gold Parker Sonnet from ebay which still is my most expensive pen ever. So I started from the "wrong side" of the wallet, which almost made me give up, but then I found Goulet and its demonstrator rollerballs and the safari... And now I'm anxiously waiting for the newly released Noodler's Triple Tail to arrive...

I just started! Pilot metropolitan. Never ever used any type of any special pen. Did i choose the rigjt one ti start with? I want to keep studying with fountains, but I dont want to switch until I am ready.

I’m about to receive a gift of a Lamy 2000 medium nib (I sent the gift-giver to Goulet, naturally), and I have an ink question. I’ve used Platinum Carbon Black in other pens with no issues. Is this a good choice for the 2000? I’d like to have a permanent black and blue that I change between during refilling, so a blue recommendation would also be appreciated. Thanks for all you do!
As long as you maintain a regular cleaning schedule, it should be fine. But with permanent inks, I tend to not let them sit longer than like 2-3 weeks in a pen. Question: Lamy Dark Lilac ink seems to be so popular....Why doesn't Lamy make it permanent in their ink line up? I never had the opportunity to try it, but, wish I had.
I'm not sure why, but it'd be quite the hit! They even brought in a different purple (Azurite, which is awesome in a different way). Do you guys still carry Opus 88? I noticed the Koloro's say that y'all will not restock them after they run out, do you guys plan on eventually resupplying? Also, are you guys going to carry the Pelikan 605 Stressman, and more broadly, will you ever extend your Pelikan stock, such as the regular, non special edition, pens?
We do still carry Opus 88 (www.gouletpens.com/collections/opus-88 ) but are discontinuing a few models like the Koloro & Picnic due to low sales. Regular edition Pelikans have not been great performers for us, that's why we've mainly played in their special/limited edition space. That could change down the line though! - Colin

What is this Emerald of Chivor??? All I've ever heard of is Emerald of Chicken!
Mr. Nelson it’s a liquid peacock of an ink. I’ve never seen it in person. But it’s really pretty!

I still wonder why Lamy didn't take the dark lilac ink into their program. It is one of the most beautiful inks I ever had.

Cobalt actually hung around for a while, just cycling out a few years ago. Any chance? Possibly, but nothing in the plans currently. More likely to have a similarly blue Seasonal Edition! - Colin
Question: Lamy Dark Lilac ink seems to be so popular....Why doesn't Lamy make it permanent in their ink line up? I never had the opportunity to try it, but, wish I had.
I'm not sure why, but it'd be quite the hit! They even brought in a different purple (Azurite, which is awesome in a different way). Do you guys still carry Opus 88? I noticed the Koloro's say that y'all will not restock them after they run out, do you guys plan on eventually resupplying?
Also, are you guys going to carry the Pelikan 605 Stressman, and more broadly, will you ever extend your Pelikan stock, such as the regular, non special edition, pens?
We do still carry Opus 88 (www.gouletpens.com/collections/opus-88 ) but are discontinuing a few models like the Koloro & Picnic due to low sales. Regular edition Pelikans have not been great performers for us, that's why we've mainly played in their special/limited edition space. That could change down the line though! - Colin
