Don't tend to comment on videos on the bonsai channels I watch. But I have to say this is my kind of interest. Seeing other enthusiasts personal passion which we can relate to immensely. Visiting their personal space is inspiring. Good work.
I've been collecting found seed for several years now and find it thrilling to see all the trees he has grown from seed. Plus, I'm a huge oak fan myself! Exciting to see such a wide variety of oaks in his collection. Another video full of inspiration for me. I'm starting to think I'm not so crazy with my trays and trays of seedlings and propagations. 😂 🌱💚
I think you have found a very knowledgeable friend there Adam. I too love growing from seed. My almonds are from a bag from aldi! Not blanched or salted. Getting there with cuttings too. Making best use of nursary material. Keep growing.xx
Love his collect/ garden something Im definitely looking forward to having Myself in the future when I have my own garden aha interesting fella as well should start his own TH-cam channel 👏👊
He a fascinating guy doing his own methods which work for him, so many maples from seed plus all air layers, everything looks super healthy, what country is he in Adam Northern Ireland ? Thanks for video tour.
The difference in girth between the two 2 year old maples is most likely from the root system. One of them just happened into a more advantageous situation. There surely is some genetic component but I find it's all in the roots.
@attilacsintalan3285 love the work youve done in such a short time. And every tree looks brilliantly healthy and so bright! My question is about your maple seedlings. Whats your process for stratifying or can you simply plant seeds and wait for sprouts? Thanks for the inspiration. Its videos like this that keep me practicing
Happy to hear 😊 About the seeds. I just plant them around Oct-November every year. Leave them outside in the greenhouse. They got cold enough to stratify over winter months, and around march hopefully u will see the new little trees 😊
@@attilacsintalan3285 ok cool that sounds easy enough. I live in the Appalachian mountains in north Carolina. Our mild cold winters should be fairly natural for maples.ill certainly try that for next season. Thanks for the reply and keep up the good work!
We have mild winters here in Ireland, temp goes down to -4 celsius in the "worst scenario" , but usually is around 0-6 celsius, so you should be just fine ;) , on the following of my work, i am working on my own social media launch very soon. Will keep u updatef 😊
@@attilacsintalan3285 Hey Attila, thanks for the reply! The trunk is about as thick as a chopstick at the base and then higher it gets less “woody” and turns green. Probably 7 centimeters of wood. About 1.5 meters tall in total. Any suggestions on when I can start pruning?
If you satisfied with the thickness , you can start pruning, but i usually leave them to reach the sky , more foliage/leaf, more energy production, quicker and stronger growth, but if you want to keep them nice and short you can start pruning them, well depends on your location :)@@skolvikes28

On silver birch, can you air layer and / or will it leaf when cut back? One in my garden is touching wires now. Autumn pruning project.
What kind of trees were in the 2nd glass house?
They are all Japanese Maple ;)

Sorry my question is abit off topic. 🙃
@@brentjenkinsdesigns it is! 😄
How old does a maple seedling have to be before you prune it?
Hey Jason. It is depends on how thick you want to trunk ;) I will leave these for another year before decide what they will became ;)

Jason Hanrohan sure looks different 😛
My grandma had a 60+ year old grape dug out, she got rid of it. But it got forgotten.
What country are these two from? I’m confused by the accents. Is it Ireland?
Attila is from Hungary but now living in Ireland! I'm from up north!
@@notionbonsai thanks for replying. I’m sorry for asking. I’m just nosey and interested. Lovely channel by the way. I’m enjoying watching.
👍👌👌🙂
Attila indíthatna egy magyar nyelvű csatornát. : )
Gondolkozom rajta 😁
Adam, can you show a good shot of your tattoo?
second house perfect to hide some weed in :D
😆
jo latni, hogy magyarok is foglalkoznak bonsaikkal de kar, hogy nem magyarorszagon
Koszike. Biztos vagyok benne, hogy Magyarorszagon is sokan foglalkoznak Bonsai-al ;)
