What a real shame the scouting movement in Australia is today, as the very mere shadow of what it was like back when this film was made. In my oppion it died the day they let girls into the world of boy scouts. It has never been the same since. Even the uniform is a joke now days, a mixture of casual clothes and polo shirts. I would think old Baden Powell would be rolling over in his grave with the side show circus the scouting movement is today. Shame real bloody shame.
Read Scouting for Boys. B.P. always intended the organisation to be a Movement, meaning progressing with time. Therefore Girls are a justified part, but what is inexcusable is the way the whole association is administered, with strict adherence to Youth welfare, but gross neglect of Adult Rights. Following this trend, Scouts will self implode in a few years time due to lack of suitable adult leaders. What adult will commit their valuable time and effort, when being bullied around like a conscript instead of being recognised as a volunteer. B.P., rolling in your grave will not get anyone anywhere. Rise, come and kick arse into this "selfie mob".
+MilkProductions O.k. I am a little bit on the "wrong footing of expression". Most local groups are run well, harmonious and hard working, which can be a great credit to the Group and Section Leaders for their patience, empathy and understanding. But getting the next level up, a particular branch either has no plans to deal with conflicts or when apparent, no intention to sort out conflicts, hoping they will sort themselves out without anyone getting "dirt" on their personal files, let alone "schmuck" uniforms. Yep, after more than 3 years trying to make myself understood, the biggest experience has been ignorance of the problem and bullying to the exit to the point that so far nobody has been interested to sincerely come to the negotiation table with an apology as a final result. If the responsible commissioners are thinking that their behaviour in my case is justified, I am only left with wishing them well on their journey into a doomed future. Sad.
