    Hii!! I have a question, why isn't Osmosis mentioned in any usmle prep video that I've seen so far? Personally, it has helped me so much in understanding concepts in physiology and pathophysiology that I always struggled with, plus it has videos with high yield content for each system and flashcards and questions, so I feel like it's a great resource, ever since I started using it my % per block went up and I feel a lot more confident now, so I don't get why it is neverr mentioned

    Hi Dr.Challa
    Thank you very much for another helpful video.
    My question is how I can do my dedicated study period during my internship?

    • @DrChalla
      @DrChalla  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completing your dedicated phase during your internship maybe difficult depending on the hours you’re required to put into your rotations. If your rotations demand high hours, then I’d say your best bet would be to perfect your consolidation phase during internship and then spend 3-4 months right after it’s done to dedicate time for your step 1 and you should be great :)

    Hey is there any resource for anatomy?

    • @DrChalla
      @DrChalla  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So anatomy is definitely a tricky part for the Usmle and everyone feels weak at it because there are no appropriate resources for it. However, most of the anatomy in step 1 is pathological, so you’ll cover a great deal of the information in first aid, bnb and uworld. After a good grasp of these topics, I suggest to spend a day on the resource “Anatomy Shelf Notes.” This shouldn’t take you more than one day if you’re well versed with the other resources and I found it to be very helpful

    Hi Dr. Challar,
    Thank you for your sharing.
    I finished FA once and did 1st round of UW with 50%. I'm going to take step 1 in 4 months. I don't know how to remember what I have studied.
    Do you have any suggestion or strategy for the test?
    I greatly appreciate.
    Thank you very much.

  • @adrianvalverde6723
    @adrianvalverde6723 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Dr Challa, what is your recommendation for studying to step 1 while internship year as IMG? Should it be just a first pass of FA, or is it worth it to buy the subscription of UW though in this year I dont have too much time to dedicate, and then the dedicated period after graduating the next passes of FA..Thanks for the video, very helpfull as always 🙌🏾 kind regards from Ecuador 🇪🇨

    • @DrChalla
      @DrChalla  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I definitely think that you should buy your uworld subscription during your internship year. I believe that you haven’t effectively started your preparation without first aid and uworld. During internship, I’d say that you should finish your consolidation phase and have all the information annotated and ready for you to start your dedicated right after. After your internship, all you’d need to do is spend 3-4 months of dedicated study to memorize and fine tune that information and you’ll be great! :)

    • @DrChalla
      @DrChalla  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your first round is mainly focused on just going through the information and uworld, although should be used to enhance your question strategy and provide a platform to actively learn and apply your knowledge, should be used more like a textbook because it has a lot of information that’s not available in first aid

  • @naaz6866

    Dr, as you & many others recommend to start preparing for usmle from the day one, if we do purchase it rgt then, till the year we give exam won't it be like we have prepared it from later edition of dat book, or if it's ok with d same book we have purchased rgt from the day one of our preparation. Plz do answer my question.

    Thanks for your videos but is it okay to go through first aid only twice

    • @DrChalla
      @DrChalla  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, according to evidence based study tips, it takes atleast 3-4 readings of any topic to get a good understanding of it. The first read is to learn the concepts, 2nd read to memorize it and 3rd, 4th and so on to compartmentalize and fine tune it. Considering the large quantity of information that is needed to be covered for step 1, you will definitely forget a decent amount of the book easily. So I definitely believe that it requires 4-6 reads through first aid to be comfortable with it
