The use of Hope and the Pym family's loss as a catalyst for Peter's turn to heroism was a really smart move by the writer. Never would have even thought of that link between them. And the writers even gave Bucky his freedom as a bonus. Cap coming back in this timeline would be CRAZY. Imagine Steve waking up and running outside into Time Square, to see 2010s Avengers imagery after they saved the world for the hundredth time. A statue could have Bucky Barnes, older, a little gray hair and unmasked, standing proud with his next-generation team, including Peter as Star-Lord, Scott Lang as the new Giant-Man, and Hope van Dyne as the Wasp.
Bill had such a cool Goliath costume, but I wonder if anyone will be wearing it in live-action. What I liked about this episode is that Hank and Howard tapped into their humanity to respectively bond with Peter and talk Bucky down. It’s also cool to have Atandwa Kani return as T’Chaka in his prime.
In the comics, Bill Foster's nephew takes the mantle of Goliath after Bill is killed during the first Civil War arc. That could still happen, hypothetically.
In just this one 28 minute episode I felt the same joy as I did with the first Avengers movie! This is absolutely and Avengers team I would love to follow. I also love that they got Atandwa Kani who played young T’Chaka in the first movie (who was the real life son of the original T’Chaka John Kani) to reprise his role for this. And we got to see Laurence Fishburne’s Goliath in uniform finally!
I really enjoyed this episode and seeing you two react to it. I definitely loved this alternate version of the Avengers as well as the relationship between Peter Quill and Hope van Dyne.
Honestly a really good episode that gives us a look at an 80s avengers and a new arc for peter becoming a positive mature star lord with celetial powers. Bucky gets to be free and become a hero, thor may have gone fark but now he has a team and world to call home. Im already seeing the 2010 avenges with star lord, wasp II, antman II, iron man, capt america, thor, hulk, hawkeye and widow maybe black panther tchalla and a capt marvel. Also nice reference to AZURI the wise
Ego: "I'm billions and billions of years old. I can't afford to take a four decade vacation, spending a 'lifetime' with the woman I love until she dies of old age and raising Peter Quill to be the perfect, loyal son that will help me spread myself across the universe."
I've been enjoying the episodes so far. Also wanted to thank you Wendy & Dustin for all the hard work you are putting in to this series. It can't be easy to edit a video every single day, especially with it being the holiday season.
This is my favorite episode in the entire series so far. Throughout the Sacred Timeline, we run into characters who we KNOW were really cool back in the day, but are retired by the time of the movies, so it’s so neat getting to see characters like Hank Pym and T’Chaka in action!
I heard there’s rumors of a season 3 in production, so I wonder if episode 2 of season 3 will ALSO be kicked off by Yondu’s decision regarding Peter’s abduction. After all, season 1 episode 2 happened when he chose to have his colleagues abduct the kid, and season 2 episode 2 was when he decided to turn Quill over
Methinks that the sound effect of the containment booth enlarging sounded suspiciously like the sound the six million dollar man made when he jumped...
I'll a lil late on this episode but I REALLY REALLY liked this episode. EP 1 was good but this one was honestly amazing to me. I love it when Marvel takes it back. And this Lowkey confirmed a lot of things. IDK if some of those answers we got like Wakanda letting Howard have some Vibranium are also canon to the actual main MCU canon but that kinda split my brain in half. And they just did it so casually. I like how they advertised young Peter like this was gonna be a dark story. Because that's honestly how I thought it was gonna be. But it honestly was very heartwarming. I loved Peter and Hope's connection in this movie. Both just lost a mom. Hank just lost a wife. So he was summoning up some of that dad energy for Peter. And of course Peter would choose to be good because he had just lost his mom who he loved deeply. But Ego didn't. That never changed. It's like it's a fixed point in time (maybe) that Peter always discovers Ego didn't truly love Meredith Quill. This was an amazing episode. Made me shed a tear ngl. And then Howard bringing up Steve to The Winter Soldier. I think the message of this episode is you can always choose to be good. 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Writers A+++ Best episode BY Far, watched it twice since yesterday and now with you. These are all characters we knew had been around, but never given a full story.
I want them to do an 80s avengers and here’s my theory of what would happen after defeating ego all the planets and the people that were on those planets were brought back. But even saving the universe from ego, there are still unknown threats, like Loki Thanos, and more. And they could do so much more in the 90s. They can even do a young Iron Man.
Will they use the name Avengers? It was Fury that came with that name, but thanks to Carol using the word on her plain. Those event might not happen in that reality.
Entertaining but I enjoyed the first episode of this season more. Felt a bit rushed during the third act. Wish we could have more development with certain characters but again I like it for what it is
In the Movie Peter gave Up the Power he didn't want anything of EGO's after finding out he killed his mother. Here he instead absorbed and accepted it.
@@AlbertoMartinez765 He only gave up it up bcs it was either that or kill the entire universe. Not because he didn't want anything to do with Ego. I'm just saying he now has the possibility if he wants to

Dude, I love the bond between Peter and Hope. I mean who would have thought of that. Great job writers. My heart melted
Two lonely kids bonding over lost parents. If it weren't for Hope, Peter would have been killed.
Imagine if lil Peter met Adult Hope.
@@benhamilton1156 that's impossible, they're at the same age

Goliath Rocks!!!
The stakes in this episode were high enough that the Soviet Union said "Here, YOU CAN BORROW THE WINTER SOLDIER FOR THIS."
Sometimes, enemies become temporary allies out of self-preservation.
"Look, he's going to destroy the entire planet, and we're some of the idiots who live on this planet."
Howard Stark being the one to save Bucky brings a tear to my eye.

Yea I see potential of them hooking up when they're teens and adults.

I can't imagine if this series made as live action...it will be awesome 😍😍
I literally just thought of you guys and got soo excited to see that you literally just uploaded this as I thought of it! 😃😃😃
Awesome reaction and I love how we get the 80 Avengers in this truly amazing and epic 😀👍🏽😎👍🏽😀

I generally don't look at the opening credits to be surprised. It's fun!
When you think about it. The Watcher is breaking the fourth wall every episode. :-)
Oh, I'm watching TH-cam... passes the time in an empty house
OMG I forgot about the one ep per day thing! no wonder there were suddenly an ep3 by the time I finished ep2!

Fun episode I thought it was wholesome and nostalgic even if it's a different team the 80s avengers are a masterpiece
Ego was able to take out Asgard before Hope gave Peter that Walkman. Ego couldn’t weaponize him in the fight on earth.
Writers A+++ Best episode BY Far, watched it twice since yesterday and now with you. These are all characters we knew had been around, but never given a full story.
Dustin looking like Ego here AKA 1970s Kurt Rissell
@The Movie Couple,

Does that mean If they succeed destroying Ego's planet, Peter Quill wouldn't lose his powers as he absorb a part of EGO?
i mean this also said only celestials can tamper with ego's seed so maybe the one in missouri is still there and peter can still absorb it?

This season is much more adult-seaming. Little to none of the usual MCU undercutting every moment with shitty humor.
