    Hello Friends,
On this episode I haul up after getting my anchor chain freed from coral and moved to the much better anchorage of Kia Ora near the Tiputa Pass. I then have the most amazing snorkel of my life at “La Aquarium” and check out this end of the Motu here at Rangiroa.

Hey.. can’t knock him.. 23’ has done it before! :) besides we all know it’s not the length that counts but…… haha .. In all seriousness even 30’ is tons of work compared to a 50’ boat ride. It’s gunna be bumpy.. but it will sail

James, I'm hoping you just misspoke when you said you "held your breath" as you came up from 30ft without air in your tank from scuba diving (not freediving). If you did do this please try to avoid doing that as that can lead to an air embolism / lung expansion injury. You should be able to safely ascend from that depth while releasing little bits of air through your mouth on your ascent. The air in your lungs is expanding as you ascend.
That is an amazing place you're at and I'm so glad to see you enjoyed your snorkeling at the Aquarium. You are in for a real treat as you continue to explore the underwater realm in the South Pacific. If you have the opportunity to dive with a dive operator at Tiputa Pass there in Rangiroa you will really get a chance to see just how beautiful the marine life there can be.
Thanks for bringing us along. Have an amazing and safe journey!
    ~ Laz

This is your most interesting and beautiful episode thus far so bravo for making it. Now you've really got my attention. You yourself are a colourful character with all that ink on you. I wish you all the best and fair winds in your continuing adventures mate. I live aboard a sailboat also, S/V Mystic in Ganges, Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada. Give us a shout if you pass this way 'cause i'd like to photograph you and hang out a bit. Some of the best cruising grounds in the world are here also, in the Pacific Northwest, the inside passage, for example, the San Juans are cool too, just south of the Canada/US border. Lots of Orca and other whales, giant octopus also, some of the richest oceans in the world for marine life. Lots of pics in the galleries on my site if you are online and curious. I tried to do the g-pay thing just now to send a bit of cash but it did not work for me. I'll use paypal instead, that's sure to work. What is your email?

I’m 55 and unexpectedly divorced after over 30 years and the great thing is it’s given me the chance to do what I have always wanted to do… and that’s sail (slowly) round the world.
Aim is to be gone in two years… so my 60th will he in the South Pacific.
      I’m a young 55 LOL.
Be good to meet up one day.
For now keep it up and I enjoy watching vicariously… check out the Sailing Brothers… two Welsh lads on a minimal budget and a basic old but solid yacht.

    Great episode !
Consider a trip line on your anchor perhaps ..
Can you rig a rainwater catching tarp to fill tanks

a trip line would not have helped the chain wrapped up in coral. I have a rain catchment system but it rarely rains long enough this time of year to fill a jerry can.

James, never hold your breath while ascending from a dive! As the pressurized air in your lungs expands during ascent, your lungs can explode. Always leave your airway open and exhale a steady stream of bubbles as you rise to the surface. Holding your breath is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. We need you healthy!
