Did you know any non-native English-speakers at your university that were studying English? And how hard was it for them? Because I would love to study English lit and English is like one of my main/advanced courses for my highschool graduation (that I am working on right now) and I would say I am quite good at analyzing texts, both in English and in German (my native language). I also consume a lot of media and read books in English. So it would be nice to know if I even have a chance at competing with people who have spoken and known English their whole life :)
Can someone please share their ideas on what to study beside your English literature major? BMA or TEFL or what area would give me a proper job? :( and is studying a master's in a different area a good option?

Shocking
That depends on your networking and which field you wanna go to. They took up the wrong field I guess. Being an English major is the best thing because our degree is so versatile and we have so many job options available. So stop with your stupid hatred
...thats not my point. I live in Britain so I guess its different but you can work in politics, journalism, become a teacher, take a law conversion degree. There are so many possibilities! And right now you are coming off a tad ignorant, there are over 6 billion people in our world who didnt all go down a STEM route and they are living just fine. Please, i genuinly want you to know this bc its such a bad mentality.

Honestly I don’t want to study at all anymore because it’s killing me but I know I have to get a degree 😭
I was wondering whether you can become a teacher after graduating English Literature degree?
I'm from Russia and we don't have such courses here, so I'd really like to go somewhere abroad for studying it!

As an international student, do I have to take the subject SAT test or can I take only the general one?
Great input & gorgeous thanks
You are so welcome!

Did you advise my study English in college
Whatever I'm bad in it
I mean I can't read good and write!
If you really want to do it try taking some English courses before or try to improve by yourself so you don't find it too difficult to understand in classes.
@@hahagahagaga6576 thank you so much

Hi Ella Thank you very much for the video. I am looking for an English language textbook specifically about learning different types of writing (informative, descriptive, argumentative, discursive) with annotated examples from published articles. I would be really grateful if you could recommend me user-friendly guidebook/ textbook if you have come across it.

I come from India and I am in dire need of help regarding the Employability of various Humanities degrees in UK. My family would have to put a lot at stake to send my sister to UK and we require to know about the outcome and whether you get a job as you move out a graduate from Uni.
Can u suggest an online ba in English literature which is accredited?
University of London offers a BA in English and Open University offers different BAs in English 🙂 I study with UoL online:)
@@maraclement324 thank you for replying Mara.R u in Goldsmith?
Did you know any non-native English-speakers at your university that were studying English? And how hard was it for them? Because I would love to study English lit and English is like one of my main/advanced courses for my highschool graduation (that I am working on right now) and I would say I am quite good at analyzing texts, both in English and in German (my native language). I also consume a lot of media and read books in English. So it would be nice to know if I even have a chance at competing with people who have spoken and known English their whole life :)
lmao imaging choing to do english for uni i cant even do well in secondary school let alone a levels
Is it true that around 70% of novels mess around romantic affairs and sex?

Can someone please share their ideas on what to study beside your English literature major?
BMA or TEFL or what area would give me a proper job? :(
and is studying a master's in a different area a good option?
🧢 Cap .....I had a secondary school English teacher and A level English teacher, they both studied English at oxford but guess where they ended working as, teachers, both have revealed they didn’t want to do that and both have said that the pay is shit....I’m so glad my A level English teacher told me it’s not worth it at all even though he graduated with a first from oxford!!!!! Shocking
That depends on your networking and which field you wanna go to. They took up the wrong field I guess. Being an English major is the best thing because our degree is so versatile and we have so many job options available. So stop with your stupid hatred
bruh, thats the job they chose, english opens up so many paths and good paying jobs too
@@ishratmumtaz1687 can you please elaborate
@@spacecadex5836 can you work at Google as a English major
...thats not my point.
I love you ha ha ha
I LOVE YOU ❤️
I think you'd be good at writing books. You have a lot to say. I mean in a good way. Just my observation. Lol.
