    You are still just a kid at heart. As the sign on my shop doors says "I refuse to grow up." The video definitely showed how the tires on the 2255 put more ground pressure than the tires on Herman. Dirt was exposed in the 2255 tracks.

      Herman definitely stayed on top of the snow much better. There's a saying that it's going to snow, whether you complain about it or enjoy it is up to you.

    Nice little cruise. Probably 10 years ago now a neighbors snowmobile broke down in the middle of a quarter section. The chain case piled up and broke the jackshaft. They were messing around trying to get it off the field with another machine. There was 4ft of snow and I took my 4-180 out there and pulled him off the field. They couldn't believe it litterly floated on top. The hardest part was getting over the snow bank into the field.

    At the Dairy I worked at in the 90's and 2000's we used a 2255 with the 3150 it was only 2wd with a cab. It was used all winter cause it started easier than most. Ran snowblower, feed wagon, and manure spreader most of the time. I can recall it was bellow 0 temps for 2 week's in a row when every other day we started the Oli to haul manure and run feed wagon to keep stockpiles in check and just survive. Was hauling manure with it one spring day and saw the oil gauge just drop to 0 shut it down right then but main had already been spun. Put a 3208 truck motor in it then and became a fuel hog and just not as nice tractor as it was to run anymore. In time 2 White PFA 140's came to the farm and with the nice cab's and easy starting were the go to winter tractor's.

    Always fun playing in the snow, but extra fun doing it on such neat tractors. The 2255 is great, but Herman is, in my opinion, on top of the heap when it comes to fun. As a side note, my American 80 broke a steering sector arm, I had a bunch of work done on it in 2021 and that was one that was fixed. They had to modify one from an Oliver, they asked me what I was doing to cause it to break, told them blading the road. I was wandering what your thoughts were on it and what could have caused it. I use it to bale hay and move 4x5 round bales. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Fun video, sorry for the bothersome question, hope you have a great Sunday and week ahead!🚜

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris
      @ThatOliverGuyChris  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not bothersome at all, other than I'm not sure I have an answer. Maybe it was a defective casting? I haven't heard about them being a problem. If memory serves there was a recall on those sectors, but it was because the steering geometry was bad, not because of any weakness. I remember thinking how did someone not drive this around and not think " that's not right", before it went into production. Since most of the tractor was proven (1555/1655 rear ends, 3 speeds, Cummins engine) they felt they could skip a bunch of testing and get it to market quicker. The number of recalls shows that was a bad idea.
