    Something I learned actually from a vegan ( I am not vegan) who was on a budget was only to get fresh fruits and veggies in season and buy frozen when not in season( canned if money is extremely tight).
    Since fresh produce has such a short shelf life, I was wasting produce ( I wish I had a composter); since going the frozen route, I have cut back heavily on waste.
    I don’t know if this is “ minimalist” but I have been also looking into purchasing a food saver as well.

    Kyra, whenever I see a new posting from you, I get so excited to watch it. You are so right about how minimalism can look different for everyone. No hard-fast rules. Just whatever works for each individual. AND, we can each make the changes we need to within that huge umbrella and definition! 😉🥰

    Yay! A new video from one of my favorites! I wouldn't call myself a minimalist, but I have adopted some of the thoughts from minimalism that fit into my life. It's been years of my husband and I downsizing and seeing how free we feel with less. I'm not exactly where I want to be with it, but slowly getting there. And...it's important to know when you may need to purchase more of something when life circumstances change. Such a good point to remember as we go through life changes. :)

    We buy a lot of frozen veggies and fruit.( cheaper) I use frozen spinach and fruit in smoothies. I eat the fresh stuff first ( like strawberries) and buy canned veggies,fresh bananas ,potatoes,and apples in bulk. ( Sam's or Costco) I make banana bread or put it in smoothie w protein powder when they get mushy. We eat a lot of canned vegetables too. I love your channel .🥰

I don’t say this to disrespect anyone but you come off very real and honest and it’s very much appreciated. Also, I’ve found the beauty and simplicity in minimalism because of you and now feel like I can breathe. Thank you.

    You look great ! Eating healthy is always a good thing, is an expensive investment that in the long run will save you a lot of money in clinics and doctors . Health is more important than anything, because if you are feeling unhappy with your weight and you aren’t feeling great then you aren’t going to enjoy your new house when you eventually buy it :) take care and be happy and healthy! :)

    It's so sad fresh fruit and veggies are so expensive. Want the growers to get their share for sure but makes it harder to eat well. Lol. I have a portable bedet (not committing to an installed one) I got off of Amazon. Still have toilet paper in the house but appreciate we use less of it. Keep on saving and living the life you want.

    I’m not sure how close this is for you, but there is a market that is open where they sell fresh produce next to the Haymarket T station on Fridays and Saturdays. It is outside, and they will sell boxes of mangos for $5, organic berries for $2, etc. Bring cash with you and lots of change. If you go later on a Saturday, the produce might be picked over but you can get boxes of things for really cheap. You will have to eat anything you buy within the next couple of days though.

    Yes I agree on food prices I can get a whole pack of vegan cookies or chips for less than the price of the tiny, like super tiny container of black berries. When we decide to buy fresh produce our grocery bill is like $50.00 more a week than normal. I’ve had to make adjustments to our budget just so we can eat more healthy. Also I like how you point out that minimalism is different for everyone, makes me feel better about wanting to only clear out certain areas of my house/ life.

    the fact that produce is so expensive in the US is so mind-boggling to me. I mean, I live in an economically poor country (I'm from Serbia and you probably know that that's not the ideal country to live in) but here, it's actually cheaper to eat relatively healthy. no one does though, we're extremely heavy on the meat and grease sadly. but fresh produce that's not like imported is rather affordable. even chicken for those who eat meat... it all gets very expensive when you actually want to buy a meal from a restaurant instead of making it on your own. junk food is great (meaning it's tasty and addictive) but I don't really get how people can afford to buy it every day. for instance, a burger is about $2 here - I know it doesn't sound much but our average monthly income is about $300. you know what I mean. can't really figure out why an advanced country like the US would actually make fresh produce expensive and consequently turn healthy eating less available to people. then again, I'm not knowledgeable enough about the crops and growing and stuff like that...

    • @mohdshahrulhafizi
      @mohdshahrulhafizi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In US the produce is in mass. So most vegetables produced in big plantation does not healthy at all. They use alot of chemicals/pesticides. That’s why healthy fresh produce from local farmers are much expensive in US. I am not US citizen btw. I know from reading and watching documentaries. :)

    Hey Krya! Think you might be able to cut the cost of some of your apps if you buy an Adobe photoshop subscription. theres a mobile and desktop version and you could make thumbnails, photo edits, and blurred backgrounds etc for less than those 3 or so apps you're using now combined together. I believe it's around 20 ish a month. Also, if you connect with customer service and ask for a discount or bundle they almost always give you money off just to keep you as a customer. I would try that out! Adobe also has student discounts if you are one. I would try that because it seems it would do all the functions you need! If you're not sure how to do things, theres a million youtube tutorials for photoshop functions. Hope this helps!
