I took an late 80's IROC Z28 out for a test drive back in the day. The color was "arrest me red" so gorgeous! Under the hood...it wasn't the normal stock V8. The dealer told me it was a one of the big block vette engines. I DOUBTED this until I drove it and I opened it up and it took the hell off! I was twenty and so I needed a co-signer for the loan and my Dad took one look at it and said "I don't think so"! I begged him but he was like...Yeah...no I don't think so!
@@Linda-cn3yx Thank you. I'm not well versed with GM engines/block sizes. Could a 305 be that fast? When I floored it from a dead stop the wheels spun and we shot like a rocket down the road. Anythings possible I guess.
I remember these cars or models however you want to say, this was GM not at its best in my opinion they were junk! 1st of all they were grossly underpowered, the paint peeled off the exhaust would somehow rust away the interior the seats would tear and splite. They couldn't take a parking lot bump bumper crack in my opinion it's not a collectible they should have been crushed.
I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOU ON YOUR INCORRECT NEGATIVE REVIEW OF THIS CAR AND CHEVROLET CARS ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES LIKE ON THE MONTE CARLO THE INTERIOR PLASTIC PANELS WOULD DETERIORATE RAPIDLY BECAUSE MY MOTHER HAD A 1983-4 MONTE CARLO AND THE INTERIOR PANELS DID DETERIORATE BUT THE CAR RAN SO GOOD AND DIDN’T HARDLY NEED ANY MAINTENANCE ASIDE FROM CRANKCASE OIL TRANSMISSION FLUID ,POWER STEERING FLUID BRAKE FLUID AND RADIATOR CHANGED WHICH COULD ALL BE DONE BY THE OWNER QUITE EASILY UNLIKE THE CARS OF TODAY WHICH YOU HAVE TI TAKE IN TO HAVE AN AUTO TECHNICIAN TO SERVICE THINGS LIKE THAT
@ I’m glad to see you have fond memories of the car because your mom had one that’s great. I too have fond memories of the cars my parents had which was a 1965 Chrysler 300 L along with a Chrysler Imperial Crown, i have my own opinion as you have yours but I worked as an automotive mechanic/ tech however you choose i work on my share 80s cars so i would know which ones were junk and this one was junk, did it get a bit better in later years yes the IROC series was an improvement but as i said the 1980s was a very different time for automotive companies.
MAYBE. BUT I SINCERELY THINK THAT YOU WERE THE PROBLEM “PIECE OF JUNK”THAT DIDN’T MAINTAIN A NICE CAR THAT WAS ACTUALLY QUITE TO EASY TO MAINTAIN AND HANDLED ON THE ROAD AND STEERED AND PERFORMED LIKE A FERRARI IMAGINE IF YOU HAD FERRARI AN ASSHOLE LIKE YOU WOULD’VE DRIVEN IT INTO THE GROUND. THE SAME WAY THAT I SAW ASSHOLES THAT BOUGHT THESE CARS AND RACED THEM LIKE IMMATURE CHILDREN AND DESTROYED A BEAUTIFUL CAR RAN THEM INTO THE GROUND TREATED THEM TERRIBLY AND DIDN’T MAINTAIN THEM PROPERLY
Brings back memories. I had a white 1985. The tail lights on it are the best.
Oh.... I love it. I bought a brand new 1988 Camaro when I was young and I miss it terribly. WOW.. this is indeed nice.

How much $?
Front bumper likely painted. Hard to believe on such a nice survivor and they wouldn't paint the headlight buckets satin black. Beautiful z
Nice, I have an 82 with only 45k, sadly I bought it wrecked so the drivetrain and interior is going an a 84 Z28.

@@paulk2211 i see I’m not the only one who agreed they were junk, they did get better in the late 80s into the 2000s.
@blackbiker1961 yes would love to have a new one but to much money and they don't make them anymore
@ buy yourself one from the 60s or 70s when you can afford it and rebuild it you will have a better car.
