    It's great to see that Dreamland Margate was able to re-open again this year. It is really great to see that the Scenic Railway was completely restored after being destroyed by a fire and sitting idle for quite a few years. Congratulations goes out to Dreamland Margate for their efforts and dedication to restore and re-open such a historical park and coaster. Nice video Theme Park Review. I hope to experience this historical coaster one day! :-)

    I normally hate wooden coasters because they are rough as fuck but this one actually looks really smooth and I like how it uses a rope lift too

      Christian Moss depends if the foundations and original features were used. The only original piece on H.M.S Victory is the keel but that makes it the original ship even though the rest of it isn't

    • @autisticadventuressteam83
      @autisticadventuressteam83 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The entire ride was totally replaced, even the footers. I don't think any of the hardware was reused - what was left was damaged. It's a *very* close copy and a brilliant job all the same. I'm yet to sample it. I'd say it's down to personal preference in this case as to whether one counts it as original, the geometry is certainly very close. You'd struggle to find a genuine original part of the Blackpool woodies (if any) but the difference is that this was all replaced at the same time. Original drawings didn't exist and they reverse engineered the missing portion very well, measuring what was left of the original before starting fresh. The design is certainly the oldest in operation in the UK, that can't particularly be disputed.
      Swings and roundabouts, as they say... :)

    I'm amazed, after the original one, caught fire. They've completely rebuilt it, and for a ride design, over a century old..There is some speed to it.
    I suspect the first Victorian riders, where treated for asphyxiation, light headiness, and possibly regarded, as a sin before God...blah blah blah!.
    Excellent footage, and there is a little evidence, that it is lit for night time..that I'd like to see.

      +Fury325 Doug Half of it burnt down, This coaster is an exact replica of the original one as the original one was damaged beyond repair, Its a grade listed structure which means it cannont be removed or demolished, it has to be restored to what it originally was, which is what they have done.

    I live near this coaster and it's always running 1 train or 0 trains. This is such a forceless coaster that feels really slow. It's glossy smooth except from the wooden trains, but it shouldn't be the standout attraction for this park. It's really just a kiddie coaster.

      Oggy3000 ffs. It IS a family coaster and dreamland is a herratige park so it's not going to Nemisis or the grand national

      I have very fond memories of this attraction from the mid 60's. It whetted my appetite for coasters in general which lasts to this day, but not the intense white knuckle rides though. This was and still is pure fun!

      Umm moron this coaster was built in the 1920's... I swear TH-cam should up their age registration minimum to 18 to stop dumbasses like you from spreading everywhere.

      It's OK. The arcade us quite good but most of the rides aren't for me as they are based around children. The scenic is still good though.

  • @AarOnCoasters
    @AarOnCoasters 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    For being the oldest coaster I bet it has barley any of the original wood.
