    This is/was my fourth year as a beekeeper. I'm clumsy and knocked over a hive last month and got stung 60-80 times. I've been stung before but that many stings put me in the hospital. Now I carry an epipen. I sold my hives. I need to be gold hunting. Cheers!

    Tunnel One... you found one of my spots from the 60's. The nails are from the rail road and could be worth something historically. The narrow gauge rail road reached that spot September 1871 and the line was torn up in 1941 The trains did not go through the tunnels (1,2 and 3),they were build by the State after the RR grade became available for paving.

    I'm very new to your channel I'm the guy who's granddaughter dumped/ate my lil vile of Gold. I'm learning quite a bit I wanted to say thanks and me and my granddaughter wanted to give a little something for your time teaching me different ways to collect some gold and enjoy what God gave us the great out doors. I have a lot of videos to catch up on. We're planning a trip to Colorado this fall. Do you live around there? I lived in Colorado Springs for a time spent time at Fort Carson but never did go panning. I just wanted to say thank you for taking your time to help a novice.

    We have alot of the little yellow jackets I call 'em sweat bees because they rarely sting but land occasionally and are harmless. Klesh I invested in a DeWalt D5000 Battery operated vacuum, and put it in a back harness. It's perfect for crevacing!!

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sweat bees, or Ciphids do not sting. These are yellow jackets, a hornet that are extremely aggressive and have a painful sting. Google "yellow jacket" you'll see.

    Really enjoy your videos. I like that you cut to the chase and don't give us 5 minutes of driving down the road and 10 minutes of hiking to your spot. You get right down to business. When you get to California look me up and I'll take you to some gold country spots right near me.
    Every video you have posted I've gained some knowledge. Even a not so good day prospecting is still a good day and always a learning experience.
    If you come out here let me know...I have cheap (free) lodging.

      No warm waters anywhere near this location,,,also has always been private property around that bend....much of that river is BLM but not allowed to prospect...at least last known to me...used to work that canyon early 70's thru about 2000...long before B.H. and C.C. changes...used to be common spot for target practice ,also other side of Hwy on top of hillside...probably find lots of lead if detecting...

I can do it again and again, just need to run more and more buckets. Unfortuately with my back condition i cannot do it by myself.

      A yellow jacket is a hornet. A very angry type of hornet.

    • @swell411
      @swell411 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can swat them when they're flying & can't sting or bite when they're in the air.

    • @robertg5775
      @robertg5775 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. The only HORNET species in CO is the brown hornet. Brown and white. What you saw were "paper wasps", probably. They build the cool paper-looking, gray balls with holes. They don't sting unless you absolutely aggravate them - you can flick them, swat them and walk away. It you're by their nest and poking around passively - they'll lite and sting. Colors can vary but yellow jackets/paper wasp - same thing. Hornet - different.The yellow jacket is a wasp - a very angry type of wasp and bites at no provocation. Nice...

    Is there any place in Colorado where you can find little nuggets lol Ike pioneer Pauly? Also is there any place you can go river digging in Colorado?

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The richest areas of Colorado have been worked by machines since the mid 1800's, entire rivers have been dredged to bedrock leaving plenty of "tailings piles" for us in the 21st century to scavenge. I'm sure there are plenty of small unsearched areas around though!
