I'm glad it helped :) You can retake it if you fail, and yes you do have to pay for it each time. Hi there, I was told by a couple of friends I met over this time of preparing for the BCSE exam that BCSE was much harder than the NAVLE. What is your opinion? Thanks a lot for all the info you sare!
Hi! Personally, the NAVLE was harder because the exam was SO much longer. The challenges with the BCSE is it's a lot of content covered in vet school but less so used if you are now in clinical practice. So in this sense, NAVLE can be easier, but unless you work in mixed practice it's probably still going to be hugely challenging due to the different species.
Very good and easy to understand video. I have a question, I am a small animal vet too. I am nervous about practice exam especially equine and bovine part. How can people who passed the exam studied this exam. I couldn’t find reliable experiences anywhere 😞
How long did it take you to register for the BCSE? I've submitted the required documents, but haven't seen any changes in my application. Did you also find the registering process to be quite the waiting game?

It depends how you find the questions when doing them in Zuku. BCSE is a lot of what you will have done at university, but NAVLE is more clinical based and therefore I would recommend clinical experience (at least 6-12 months) if you can get it. Obviously US students don't have this, but I found it helped a lot.

Hello Dr., good morning. Very helpful video, thank you so much! My question is regarding notes. Did you ever take notes of the answers or the lectures? I signed up for Zuku for a week now (premium), and I am feeling overwhelmed with all the content. I am trying to follow their schedule, but it has been challenging since I also have a full time job. I am taking notes of the lectures and also the answers of the tests (timed and non-timed). Did you ever take notes? Or did you just answered the questions over and over again? Have a great day! I didn't really take any notes, just repeated the answers until I got them correct. There were some answers I knew I would not remember and needed to memorise (like reproductive cycle numbers in different species as an example) which I would take note of. Then these 1-2 pages maximum of notes would be what I looked at the day before the exam. I think you have to create your own schedule based on your exam date and what is realistic for you. I didn't follow their guides at all.

Hey! I’m starting my vet studies in the upcoming months and I really am thinking WAY ahead of things (😂) but it’s my career plan to obtain a license to work as a veterinarian in the US after graduation. My question is can you start this process almost right after you graduate from the vet school or do you need work for couple years to be able to apply?
Planning WAY in advance is totally what I do too. You can definitely start straight after graduation, and some things like the BCSE will be really fresh and therefore easier to study. The NAVLE is very clinical based, and personally I think I benefitted massively from having worked in practice but all vets in the US do it before they start practicing so definitely can be done.

I don't have any experience with this process I'm afraid. I registered in the UK pre-Brexit so have no idea on exams or requirements for this now, etc.
@@catwalkdoctor just did this part; you can do your IELTS without being register on ECFVG, you can later request IELTS to send your test results (as long as you do it within 2 years) to ECFVG. I mean usually private hospital in us or any other country preferred students who have done there internship in the same country. Please correct me mam if i understand it wrongly. Thank for beautiful video 😊
The only way you can work in the US without doing the ECFVG is if you became a specialist, but even then your are limited to universities in the US. Not sure if that's the question though. I'm doing a rotating internship in the UK currently, not really related to moving to the US. I think they accept the internships there too, but I'm probably going to specialise in the UK and then move to the US. The only challenge is needing to take both European and American boards, but I haven't really decided on my exact route. Maybe do residency in the US.
I have same question too. futhermore Must we prepare for BCQ in my country without joining any acedemic program? and clinical experience too.? cleared BCSE I want to be eligible in both North America and Europe plz make a video on how to get license for Europe too and is there any change after brexist
Well done on passing the BCSE! I don't actually know what the process is to work in Europe, as I graduated from a European university.
My school is not in AVMA ECFVG list and it seems like they won't have a partnership with them😕. What can I do in this case?
I would suggest emailing the AVMA ECFVG department directly, as I cannot answer this.
thanks for your video. i am dvm student i want to do immigration. is there any way for me to continue my studying and get my degree in usa or canada?
I would not know how this could work or if it is possible, at least not to my knowledge. I suggest contacting universities in these countries or the AVMA.
Is zuku enough for the bcse?
How much questions have you seen in the exam where in zuku?
It was enough for me. I also had 4+ years clinical experience at the time.
Hi thank you so much for informations 🙏🏻❤ I thought if I graduate in english speaking veterinary university ,I dont need to take english exam is not correct?
Why they care about highschool 🤦🏻♀️you went university in Uk right?
No, they do care about the language high school was in. Studied abroad in Slovakia for university, although in an English programme. Also am British, so that was mostly annoying but a tick the box activity.
@@catwalkdoctor wow 😟😟
Thanks love ❤
Saved me
Mam can you make a video regarding same but in UK...If veterinary graduates want to practise in UK what is the procedure what exams to give pls tell me i am not able to find info online 😢
I don't have any experience with this process I'm afraid. I registered in the UK pre-Brexit so have no idea on exams or requirements for this now, etc.
@Catwalk Doctor Thank you mam but just in case you come to know regarding same...please drop a video..as there is no information on internet 🥲
@@itzzmesrijan I recommend reading thoroughly on the RCVS website. That is the place to find the answer :)
Is it mandatory to complete ecfvg registration or i can clear ielts first then go for ecfvg registration?
So, you'll need to double check this but if memory serves you can do IELTS within 2 years of registering for ECFVG, I think.
@@catwalkdoctor just did this part; you can do your IELTS without being register on ECFVG, you can later request IELTS to send your test results (as long as you do it within 2 years) to ECFVG.
Note; ECFVG will NOT accept test result from unregistered applicants. So do the test first and than register.
Also, if you do IELTS make sure you are doing ACADEMIC. Since this is the ONLY one they will accept. GENERAL is not accepted
General will be required for immigration process (but that’s another video channel 😜)
Pd thanks for your videos !
Dear Mam can you have any idea about Ireland Veterinary practice exam for foreigners
I'm afraid I have no clue about registration in Ireland.
I just graduated in Mexico, I am on step 3 what do you recommend me to study more?
Well done!! I would just use Zuku and get through it all twice. You need to know everything in there, if you do you should be fine :)
@@catwalkdoctor thanks! What about studying for the CPE?
@@adriianleonne9731 Not sure, as not crossed that bridge yet!
@@adriianleonne9731 yup the main exam is CPE and we cannot have enough info how to tackle this exam
Hi Adrian! En que parte del proceso estas? Aqui en el hospitl veterinario que estoy, mi jefe esta reclutando personas que esten avanzados en el proceso del ECFVG. contactame si es que tu estas ya avanzado en e proceso. Gracias.
Hello Dr!
The video was really helpful and informative so thank you for that!
I want to know when are you scheduling for your NAVLE? Like how much time is required to study for it? For a person who is currently studying for the exam only (not employed)
Thank again!!
I did almost 2 weeks solid studying, sat it mid-April and started studying in January but mainly weekends. Think it's super hard to give a timeline because everyone studies differently. Brutal exam, so best of luck!
Hello doc, how long can we wait after passing the BCSE before registering and taking up the CPE? Does it have to be immediate ?
I think you just have to pass everything within 5 years, but I'm not 100% sure. Check the ECFVG website for more accurate details.
Hey doc after BCSE you need not to do 1 year internship there and you will be hired by some private hospital there ?
As my knowledge we should follow a clinical rotation in a accredited vet school or institute. but in that case how should We contact with a such accredited institute? please docter answer my problems. thanks and good luck for your future plans
@@hasinthapriyankara1614 Hi, you don't need to join an academic program just the ECFVG and then follow the steps from there starting with registration and then doing the BCSE once you've completed your IELTs or TOEFL for English.
@@catwalkdoctor yes i got it. then how we know about our knowledge is enough for the exam without anu idea.. I mean When we study ourselves or blindly it will be a risk not to be pass the exam. isn't it? and my next question is after completing BCSQ how can practice clinicals what they hope as a vet comparing their standards? and how to join or arr there any facilities for guidances, support until end of the procedure?
@@hasinthapriyankara1614 Yeah, no idea about the practical as I haven't done it or started looking into it. I just used ZukuReview. If you can answer all the questions on there correctly you should be able to pass.
How is everything Doctor? What State are you practicing in?
Hi! Congratulations on passing ECFVG! Such a huge accomplishment. I'm still in the UK as don't plan on moving over just yet, but CPE is coming up soon. Hoping I pass it 🙏. How are you enjoying life as a US vet?
Are the questions repeated ?
May I ask you what is the difference between doing the navle and not doing it? I mean… if I do it, it means I dont have to do the practical step of ECFVG?
You have to do it regardless. Only difference is you can do it before or after the practical.
I’m writing the exam early next year. Thanks a lot. I wish I have a WhatsApp study group. I’d appreciate if anyone here is interested. 🥂
I am from India and I've completed my high school with the subjects of PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY last year. I want to study vet. abroad (uk/us). Can you please guide me about how can I do that
Think it will depend on the country and university, but best to see what ones you would be interested in first and see what grades and work experience they require. I know UK vet schools like you to have done a fair amount of volunteer work also, plus any extra curricular activities etc they view as helping you stand out from the crowd. No idea about American universities, but presumably similar. Good luck :)
@@catwalkdoctor Can you please elaborate a little bit😊
@@thomasshelbypolitician I would suggest looking at the individual university entry requirements, as each will be different.
@@catwalkdoctor I've did a mail a few days ago to London's most popular vet college and they replied that my educational qualification doesn't fulfill their eligibility criteria
@@thomasshelbypolitician They are super tough to get into, but don't give up :)
Madam, is in UK any post graduate degree for veterinarians, which can obtained for the purpose of registration as a Veterinarian in UK and practice in UK
I don't know what the process of UK registration is, you would need to find this information from the RCVS.
Thank you
Great video, I benefited a lot from it, but I have a question: What are the sources (books & references) from which I can study for the BCSE exam? Note: I am from Egypt, thanks.
Glad you were able to benefit! I only used the ZukuReview website practice questions, no other books or literature.
Will you mam help me out to clear navle
I would recommend watching my NAVLE video for this, hope it helps! Mainly would just use ZukuReview to study, and if you can get clinical practice do that too :)
Why u did not want to practice in UK and can u tell me the scope and salary in UK?
Salaries range £30-70k. I currently work in the UK, but have always wanted to live somewhere warmer but still with a high quality of care to patients.
@@catwalkdoctor is it right I listened alot that in UK no specialization held like in America you become neurologist opthalmologist?and how much experience we need to get to 70k £ bcz i am planning to work in UK as vet and one last question how to tackle rcvs exam any tips any study guide?
@@ifhamali2318 You can specialise in the UK, there are a lot of great referral practices for this. You probably need like 10 years experience on average to hit that salary, but it depends what you do as with all careers. I don't have any experience with the RCVS exams as did not have to take it.
@@catwalkdoctor thanku so much doctor means alot🥰
hello doc.
how i can find a clinic after clearing my navle
Do you mean once you have passed the ECFVG? Just depends on where you want to go, there are vet jobs everywhere :)

So that the finance for CPE and preparation can be managed
